We also want to shout-out our PTA volunteers, snack and chat attendees, and our family representatives participating on the Principal's Advisory Committee. Your involvement in upcoming activities and on-going projects is appreciated.
Mid-trimester attendance notifications are being sent to families of those students who may have been regularly tardy or absent. Please continue to make every effort to have your child to school on time and ready to learn.
Looking ahead: We wanted to let you know that we will be taking an all-school field trip to Hart to view the musical on Wednesday, November 15th. More details will be shared in our next bulletin and an opt-out slip will be provided should you not want your child to participate.
Please take a moment to review our arrival and dismissal procedures as well as other helpful resources for families.

Supporting Learning at Home
Lexia Learning - Core 5 and Power Up
Churchill is using Lexia (Core 5 and Power Up) to support growth and performance in reading. You can learn more about the Core 5 program by watching the informative webinar below. Do you know what level your child is on? Check out the Home Activity resource page as well. Students are assigned practice on Lexia (or Power Up) every night as part of their homework.
Conferences
Our student-family-teacher conferences are around the corner and 100% participation is our goal. Churchill understands how important family partnership is and values your input. Please attend the upcoming conference prepared to share with us your expertise. Your child is an important part of the conversation as well. Their success is at the heart of our work and they should be involved in our next steps. We can not wait to see you in-person or via Microsoft Teams on Monday, November 20th between 8am-8pm or via Microsoft Teams Tuesday, November 21st between 8am-12pm.
Additional details will be shared on November 3rd. Please be on the lookout for the Sign-up Genius and contact your child's teacher or the office with any questions.
Fall Celebrations 🍁 and Costume Guidelines 🎃
As we settle into fall and Halloween approaches, many are excited to celebrate on Tuesday, October 31st. The following guidelines must be followed if students choose to wear a costume:
- Must wear costume to school. Students will not be allowed to change into a costume.
- Must be able to wear a costume comfortably while conducting daily activities.
- No make-up or masks are allowed.
- Refrain from any costumes that contain blood/gore, weapons.
- No props of any kind.
With the support of our amazing PTA, each class will have the opportunity to engage in some fun activities from 10:45pm-11:45pm. If you would prefer for your child not to participate in Halloween themed activities, please inform your child's teacher. There will be a fun alternate activity that they may participate in. There will be a snack provided by our food service team for every student. No other outside food is permitted. We are looking forward to a fun day!
Please take a moment to see if you might be able to assist and volunteer on this day. We are still in need of a few volunteers to do a craft or game. Materials and/or activity ideas can be provided!
