Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month
February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, where we celebrate and recognize both the students who attend a career technical center and also the value of career and technical education. This year Middle Bucks is starting a new tradition with our home school partners where they can show their support for our MBIT students throughout the month.
#supportthetrades recognizes students who have chosen a career and technical pathway. Wearing the shirt and proudly spreading their support of the trades at MBIT!

SkillsUSA District competitions
The 2024 SkillsUSA District 2 Competitions were held at Western Montgomery Career and Technology Center in January and February with Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT) students participating in 49 competitions with a total of 66 MBIT competitors. MBIT placed in 28 events earning 10 Bronze medals, 18 Silver medals, and 21 Gold Medals. Some competitions are individual events, and others are team events. The students earning gold medals will compete in the SkillsUSA State Competition, which will be held in Hershey, Pennsylvania in April. Congratulations to the teachers and students who took part in the SkillsUSA District 2 Competitions.

Public Safety
Another certification has been achieved by the Level 100 Public Safety students. They have successfully completed the Incident Command-200 course, adding another valuable credential to their repertoire. This certification is a testament to their commitment to enhancing their knowledge and skills in the field of public safety.
Dental Occupations
A big thank you to Occupational Advisory Committee (OAC) member, Mrs. McGinley, for mentoring the Dental Occupations students. The team is preparing for the Future Health Professional (HOSA) Health Education competition. She brings her expertise of public health education helping shape our Dental Healthcare Education presentation. Community connections are vital in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) classroom.
Early Childcare Education
Level 300 students have earned the Childhood Development Associate (CDA) credential, showcasing their dedication and expertise in early childhood education. The CDA is a nationally recognized qualification, representing their commitment to providing quality care and education to young children. Their achievement reflects their dedication, contributes to improving education standards, and opens up opportunities for leadership roles in the field. Congratulations to these students for their hard work and future contributions to childhood development!
Horticulture, Landscape, and Design students receive scholarships
Congratulations to Ryan Davey from Council Rock South and Michael DiNardo from Council Rock North, two talented Horticulture, Landscape, and Design students, on receiving scholarships to DelVal University!
Multimedia Technology student receives scholarship
Congratulations to Ryan Gregory, a talented student of the Multimedia Technology program and a senior at Council Rock School District, for achieving outstanding success! Ryan has recently been awarded a well-deserved scholarship to the prestigious University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
MBIT Media Associate Interns
Middle Bucks is proud of our Media Associates: Bella, Anders, and Emma. These talented students are currently enrolled in the Multimedia Technology program and are also on Co-op at Middle Bucks’. They play a crucial role in enhancing our online presence.
Together, they make a dynamic team that actively collaborates to craft engaging content for our social media platforms. Their passion for multimedia technology, creativity, and dedication to MBIT’s mission are evident.

Cosmetology
Congratulations to Ready Labbe, the first student from the class of 2024, to complete 1250 hours. Ready is a member of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) and has already been accepted to several colleges! Next stop - conquering the state board exam!
HOSA Blood Drive
Future Health Professionals ~ Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA)
A big thank you goes out to the dedicated staff and teachers for their support in sending their students and generously donating their time. Special appreciation goes to all the students who eagerly participated and expressed their willingness to help.
This event surpassed our expectations, outdoing last year's donations. It was a remarkable community service initiative for the HOSA students to engage in. Together, we contributed 46 pints of blood, ultimately saving 138 lives with our collective contribution! Wishing everyone a fantastic weekend ahead.
Culinary Arts & Science
Culinary Arts & Science students at the 200 level are immersing themselves in the world of spinach, not only as a versatile ingredient but also as a superfood with numerous health benefits. Through their exploration of spinach, they are gaining valuable culinary knowledge and skills that will serve them well in their future careers as chefs and food scientists, all while promoting healthier and more sustainable culinary practices.
Council Rock School District Visit
We love to have visitors and even more special when our students have the opportunity to show them their program!
The Council Rock School District administration visited students fully engaged in their projects, coding, engineering, and collaborating in state-of-the-art labs. The administration witnessed firsthand the seamless integration of technology into every aspect of the Middle Bucks programs. They were deeply impressed by the level of student involvement and the seamless integration of practical skills with academic knowledge. Thank you for visiting!

How to Report a Student Absence *** Report Student Absence *** It is not necessary to call Middle Bucks to report your student's absence. Please respond directly to the absentee email you will receive on the day of the absence; this email is your notification that your student was marked absent at Middle Bucks Institute of Technology. You may also notify us of your student's tardiness, need for early dismissal, or absence via this electronic absence form MBIT Report Absence or Dismissal. You may also send an email to absent@mbit.org. Please note that it may take 24 hours to update an absence. A note with the date (s) missed and the reason for the absence upon your student's return will be sufficient too. Thank you, Kim Shores, MBIT Attendance Officer
