Fronteras Spanish Immersion Charter School
Minutos de Mrs. Hutchins
Hello Fronteras Families,
We are down to only five more school days together. Thank you for a wonderful school year! We are grateful for your patience and understanding as we operated with new protocols, requirements, expectations, and responsibilities. We worked hard to navigate district mandates, personal feelings and everyday life occurrences, colleague’s feelings, parent feelings, and student feelings. We worked hard each day to make everyone’s school experience, a positive one; regardless of what happened in our 8 hours together. It was difficult and sometimes unnerving, but we made it.
Thank you for the opportunity to work with your children another year, whether it was in person or at home. We are grateful that we will be seeing our returning students in person in the fall, and we are excited to see our 8th graders move on to high school. Such fun new adventures await them!
Next Tuesday is Kindergarten Graduation and Wednesday is 8th Grade Promotion. Both ceremonies will be live streamed, as only parents/legal guardians will be attending in person. May 21st is Field Day. Our talented and dedicated PE teacher, Sra. Hill, designed a brilliant COVID smart plan that allows all Fronteras staff to be part of each activity station. Due to COVID protocols still in place, no family volunteers may attend Field Day. All students need a sack lunch as they will be eating prior to dismissal. May 21st is an Early Release. Students are dismissed at 12:30 for the final time this school year.
I would like to share a personal note of (immense) gratitude for our INCREDIBLE Fronteras staff! When our enrollment decreased drastically due to families moving out of state or making the move to a home school program, EVERY staff member, regardless of position, circled the wagons and took our difficult financial situation to heart, and went without. They did not complain. They just went without. I am equally grateful for the leadership and support of our Academic Policy Committee. Your APC stepped in and paid for Lexia and iStation licenses, when our budget could not cover those costs. We are a great team. Staff, APC board members, and you, our families. It takes all of us to make Fronteras a fabulous place to be.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend and eventual summer break!
Most Sincerely,
Mrs. Hutchins
Good-byes are not forever. Good-byes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you, until we meet again.
