Hello PLES!
Thank you Mr. Whelan for being our Watch D.O.G. today!
Youth Art Month is coming! All students should have brought home a green paper explaining our schoolwide art project: The Incredible, Invincible, Iconic Iguana. We hope you enjoy this fun family activity together! All iguanas are due back at school by March 1, 2023.
Please be sure to check out all the exciting activities coming soon from the PTA!

Learning Spotlight
Students in Miss Grzenda's first grade class are becoming great readers during D.E.A.R. time on Fridays! D.E.A.R. stands for Drop Everything And Read, where students can read any book with anyone and anywhere (including under their desks). The class has the choice to read with a buddy, listen to reading on Epic, work on writing and get extra time using the weekly word work center. Students love this time and look forward to it every week!
PBIS and Bucket Filling
Our February goal set by our second graders was to earn 5,000 bucket bucks in order to be able to watch a movie/show during lunch. We are excited to announce that our PLES bucket fillers surpassed the goal with flying colors earning over 12,000 bucket bucks! We are so proud of our students for taking care of themselves, each other, and our school! Students will have their movie/reward during lunch on Friday, March 3rd!
PTA Update
The PLES PTA 5th annual Multicultural Night will take place at PLES on Friday, March 10, 2023, 6-8pm. Come explore world cultures through games, activities, and make-and-take crafts. The event is free and families and siblings are all welcome to join the fun. If you've been before, you won't want to miss the new cultures and activities we're rolling out this year! You can also visit the book fair during the event! Don't forget to send in fun stories, recipes or family traditions you want to share to help fill our book for Multicultural Night. Families will be able to take a free copy home from the event. The flyer went home last week, but you can submit them via email to multiculturalnight@plepta.org as well. Watch this video for a preview of the event! Mark your calendars for the Spring Book Fair! Student shopping days will be March 7-14. We will also be open during Multicultural Night on Friday, March 10 6-8pm. Come out to pick up some new books and take your chances at winning a raffle basket from Saginaw Day camp which includes a voucher for a free week of summer camp (valued at over $500)! If you would like to volunteer during the book fair, please see the signup genius here. Penn London PTA is once again partnering with the Philadelphia Union on multiple Spring games this season! Families can purchase tickets for the matches on 2/25, 3/11, 3/14, 5/17 and 5/31! With Union tickets at an all-time high demand, we are opening this up well in advance for games.
