RCS - We are the Ravens!!
A mascot has been chosen! The Ravena Coeymans Selkirk Central School District is now the Home of the Ravens. In the end, 46% of the 2,500+ voters selected the Ravens, with 37% choosing the Raptors, and 17% selecting the Swarm. We thank our community and students for participating in several rebranding surveys over the course of the last six months.
Now the mascot has been chosen, we move forward with a student art contest. Students will submit their concepts for what our mascot will look like and our community will cast one final vote for our new logo. If needed, a professional graphic artist will render our new logo for print and digital use. Our new name and logo will be slowly implemented with full implementation for our teams during the 24-25 school year and final updates to our facilities by June 30, 2025.
This is a time of reflection on the nearly 70 years that we were known as the Indians. We acknowledge the retirement of our mascot as a meaningful community effort and are grateful for all that have participated in this process.

National Manufacturing Day
RCS has enjoyed strong partnerships with a number of local manufacturing companies over the past few years. Our students have been fortunate to take tours of SABIC, Owens Corning, and Plug Power. In celebration of National Manufacturing Day (which is October 6) they are coming to RCS! These three companies will have representatives at our upcoming October 13, 2023 RCS High School Varsity football game, starting at 6:30 pm. This informational recruitment effort will give attendees the opportunity to learn about the excellent job opportunities that are available along with their salaries and benefits. Some of them will also be scheduling tours of their facilities.
We encourage all attendees at the game to check out their information and give-aways. The three manufacturers will be located under tents between the concession stand and the bleachers.

Who To Contact and When Guide
The Who to Contact and When Guide was put together to connect the community with the most knowledgeable and direct person for concerns or questions. When looking for assistance, please start at level 1 and move up through the levels if that person is unable to provide you with the assistance you need. The Board of Education will become involved, if necessary, in the final stage of the process. Check out the guide here and on the second page of the 2023-24 RCS Printed Wall Calendar.
