Parent Teacher Conferences
We are looking forward to a great year!
One change we have made this year is our format for parent teacher conferences. We listened to feedback from our families and would like to invite you into the building for a conference. Our goal is to meet with each and every family at WHS this school year.
What will this look like? Each family will get to meet with a teacher representative at one of the parent teacher conference nights this year. During this time, we want to discuss current academic goals and progress, activity involvement, interests, and plans for after high school. We also want to give you the opportunity to provide us with your feedback and suggestions.
Here are the scheduled conferences for the 22-23 school year: September 27, November 10, February 2, and March 16 from 4:30-8:00.
Please anticipate an invitation from a WHS staff member for one of these dates. We look forward to meeting with you on our campus and strengthening the partnerships between the school and home. If you would like to request a conference during the September session, please fill out the following form.
Cell Phones
Cell phones certainly are a part of our world and are beneficial in many ways. At school, these devices can at times be distracting in the classroom and in the school environment. We need your help with reminding students of appropriate use of personal devices in this space. Below are guidelines from the student handbook.
Personal Electronic Devices: WHS allows students to bring their smartphones, laptops, e-book readers, and tablets for use in the classroom setting. No electronic device brought by the student is the responsibility of Wilmington High School. Students bring electronic devices at their own risk.
Electronics are permitted at lunch, before and after school.
Students must immediately give up the electronic device to a staff member who requests it due to misuse.
Students who fail to give up the device may be subject to increased discipline.
If an electronic device is confiscated a student may receive a consequence and the phone can be retrieved at the end of the day.
If multiple infractions exist, a parent may have to come in and pick up the phone and additional consequences may follow.
Wilmington High School also suggests that parents/guardians have the appropriate insurance on phones and if they are stolen should contact the authorities.
Wilmington High School will limit investigations of lost or stolen phones due to the fact they are not a necessity at school.
Parents have the opportunity to contact their child by the following numbers; 382-7716, 283-7202, 283-7204, 283-7200
Final Forms
Please update FinalForms for the 22-23 school year.
Closed Lunch Policy
WHS has a closed lunch policy. Below are a few reminders from the student handbook. This information was reviewed with students in class meetings.
Wilmington High School does not have an open lunch policy. Students must remain in the building for lunch.
Outside food should not be delivered or dropped off for any student at the school.
Parents/Guardians are not to call/sign-out students for lunch.
Clinton County Career Fair
Our school has partnered with the Clinton County Workforce Collaborative and Junior Achievement to present a Career Exploration Fair at Laurel Oaks Career Campus, located at 300 Oak Drive, Wilmington. Additionally, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, the event will transition to an event designed for adults looking for a career or a career change. All 10th and 12th Graders will be attending this event on September 28th.
WHS Food Pantry
Wilmington High School has a Food Pantry done in partnership with the Free Store Food Bank. Any family with a student attending in the Wilmington City School District is eligible for this program. An interested family simply needs to complete the attached form and send it with their student and someone from the WHS Food Pantry will contact them for additional information!
We hope to curb food insecurity in our great community and continue to grow our students into community leaders!

Student Parking Passes
Students that drive to school must purchase a parking pass to park in the paved student lot. Passes will be available for purchase the first two weeks of school for $25 in the front office. Students have received a google form to fill out if they want to purchase a pass. After September 5th, students without a permit will need to park in the gavel lot. If violations occur, the following may be a result: posted warning, ticket with fee, towing at owner's expense.
Students may choose park with out a permit in the gavel lot. No students are permitted to park in the staff lot or behind the building.
