Greetings SHES Families,

I can't express enough gratitude to our SHES community for the outpouring of flexibility, patience, and support during the most challenging hot weather I have ever experienced. You all helped us with transporting your students to and from school, many gave us cold drinks, and the kind, thoughtful, and encouraging words were so heartfelt! Our wonderful PTO delivered cold drinks, snacks and gift cards to our bus drivers and staff helping with parent pick up/drop off. Our community showed up in full force and I just want to say we couldn't have done it without you. Thank you so much!

We look forward to seeing you and your student(s) at our Open House & Parent Information Night on September 5th from 5:00-6:30. Please feel free to stay for our PTO meeting beginning at 6:30 that evening as well.

Grandparents Day looks a little different this year, but is sure to provide some fun activities for Grandparents and their grandchild. We are also looking forward to a fun PTO Family Dance on September 8th from 5:30-8:30pm. Food trucks will be here from 4:00-7:00pm.

Wow! It is hard to believe that the first month of school is already behind us. I have been extremely impressed with our SHES students, staff, and community. SHES is a wonderful place!

I wanted to give my sincerest thanks to all of you for your patience and kindness as we dealt with transportation challenges in the extreme heat from August 21st-25th. As the Assistant Principal I get to work directly with our bus drivers, and I can tell you that they loved the support that you all gave. You are an amazing community, and we appreciate all of you!

Thank you again for all your support. I am looking forward to continuing to meet and get to know you as I see you at school events and during the school year. Have a great September!

We will begin collecting non-perishable food items for our SHES Care Closet. If you would like to donate items, please send them to school with your child and they can take them to the office. We will also be collecting items at our Open House Parent Information Night and our PTO Family Dance next week. Thank you for helping those in need.

Ms. Mitchell's Kindergarten class earned all their "warm fuzzies" and filled their compliment jar. They voted on their reward between donuts and pajama day. As you can see pajama day won! Way to follow the school expectations students. Keep earning those "warm fuzzies". We are proud of you!

First grade is so excited to have magnetic tile boards for each student during all of our phonics work this year! We’ve even leveled up in Singleton/Tomes class and added 3 new welded-sounds including am, an, and all!

We are so excited to have Ms.Carley Nelson as our FULL TIME Art Teacher this year! Ms. Nelson will serve 1st grade through 6th grade students. Here we see some 2nd graders ready to work on a project.

Who says learning just occurs in the classroom? Ms. Leidel's 5th grade students are converting meters to kilometers. They were figuring out how many kilometers they walk in a day. Wonder what they found out?

A huge thank you to Advisors Excel for the awesome school equipment and supplies! We appreciate them supporting SHES.

Our Spiritwear store is OPEN! This year, PTO is using a local vendor, Wig Out Tees. The store will be open all year long and your items will be delivered throughout the year at SHES.
