Baking students in Chef Lessard's class will be baking quick breads in November to help raise funds for Thanksgiving Baskets delivered to families in town. Loaves will be delivered prior to Thanksgiving break.

Rockstars of the Month are nominated by teachers at RHS and then selected from a committee. These students worked hard, played hard, and owned it in the month of October. Students received a certificate and a personalized T-shirt!

The RHS Youth Equity Squad invited RHS to celebrate Dia de los Muertos on Nov. 1-2. There is an ofrenda display outside the RAM Center that students and staff are welcome to check out!

On Friday, October 21st RHS had a Homecoming Pep Rally to celebrate our fall sport teams! Students and staff got to participate in many games and activities like musical chairs and knockout. Thanks to everyone who made it possible!

The juniors and seniors participated in the annual Powderpuff Game on October 20th. The juniors put up a good fight, but the seniors ended up winning. Nice job everyone!

On Saturday 10/29 The RHS Marching Band hosted 16 high school marching bands from around New England for the USBANDS class 1A, 2A Championships. This event was open to the public and was live streamed on FLO SPORTS media worldwide. With over 1200+ spectators & 600+ student musicians coming to campus, it took a whole team to make it happen. Thank you so much to everyone involved!

On the 12th of October, seniors took part in mock interviews in the morning, while 9th, 10th and 11th graders took the PSATs.

Score results for PSATs will be available in December. To access them you can log into/sign up for an account with College Board at https://www.collegeboard.org/. You can also check with your guidance counselor to see your scores!

Seniors did an outstanding job in their interviews. As you can see from these photos, they came dressed to impress.

On October 20th and 21st, ASTE students invited all of RHS to come visit the ASTE building! Students put together a series of demonstrations and stations to visit to see what ASTE is all about. The goal of ASTE Demo days is to connect the program and students to all of RHS.

Author (and 2003 RHS Alum!) Emily Hockaday led a writing workshop and read her poetry to RHS Creative Writers on Oct 6. Hockaday is launching her first full-length book, Naming the Ghost.

Congratulations to first place winner Anaya Tolton and second place winner Nathan Kay in the 2022 Eastern Connecticut State University Creative Writing Contest. Anaya will receive a $500.00 prize for her poetry and Nate will receive a $250.00 prize for his short story. Athena Lavigne, Victoria Mitchell, Katherine Morey, and Tovah Oslovich received distinguished writers awards for their outstanding entries. These students were honored at the ECSU Literary Festival on October 15.

Our nursery program began on November 2nd. Students in Child Development have been learning about early learning standards and preschool development. Students in Childhood Education have been learning about careers in education and setting up the classroom for success. We are very excited to apply our new knowledge as our newest ram lambs join. Here is our new logo!

Senior classes worked with Mrs. G in the library to create research questions around their senior demonstration topics. They used the Q Focus Technique (QFT) to create, improve, and prioritize their questions. Classes are working hard on their research papers and getting ready to put their plans into action

During the month of November, add what your thankful for to our Thankful Tree in the LMC

Honor our Veterans by reading their stories. Check out the Veteran's Day display in the LMC. Thank you to our Veterans for all of your sacrifices. We honor you this month and everyday!

November is Native American Heritage Month! By reading books from our display, you can honor the influence Native Americans have had on the advancement of our nation, and celebrate their contributions to our country.

• Thank you to all the fans who supported the teams this fall.
• Girls’ volleyball, girls’ soccer, and boys’ soccer have all qualified for the state tournament. Best of luck to those teams!
• Congratulations to John Glidden and Isabel Cintron for earning All State honors in cross country.
• We have several members of the girls swim team who have qualified for the state meet. Good luck!

• If you are interested in participating in a winter sport registration is now open on FamilyID. Visit the RHS Athletic website for more information.
• Winter sports include: boys & girls basketball, boys & girls ice hockey, Unified Sports, indoor track, wrestling, cheerleading, boys’ swim (limited spots), and gymnastics (limited spots).
• Registration deadline is November 14th.
• Students must have passed 5 classes from Q1 in order to be eligible for a winter sport
