LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Happy December Bright Beginnings Families!
We are looking forward to a wonderful December of learning before the winter break. Our December parent meeting and school readiness event is always so exciting and we have tons of fun planned! Come out for a festive event on December 12th! We look forward to seeing you!
Please be aware that attendance is a key factor in determining success for students in our programs. We understand seasonal illness, but if your child is well—please make sure that they attend to get the most benefit from their time with us.
Teachers and staff have been working hard to help students develop their social emotional skills in the classroom. Your child has been participating in Friend’s Time weekly with Miss Melyssa. If you are interested in learning more about what we teach your child during this time to help with social emotional skills, come to the Parent Connection Friend’s Time on December 5th at the first dismissal or the second arrival.
Wishing you a joyous season!

A NOTE FROM MISS MELYSSA
What a joy to to continue to welcome your families into Bright Beginnings School Family! Thank for connecting your kiddos to our greetings in the morning outside in the parking lot and in the hallway. This continues to set the tone for the day! I have noticed children practicing soft high fives, air fives, and waving.
Your child/ren have been learning how to be Helpful in the classroom with their school friends. When children have big emotions, the thinking part of their brain is turned off. Children are learning how to use breathing, well wishing, and calm strategies to calm themselves to help each other. Children are also using the Feeling Buddies to name their feelings. When doing these things, our thinking brains are back online and we can solve our problems in helpful ways. Way to go!
You can learn with your student as well. Every month, I will share tidbits of what we are learning through Conscious Discipline (Sophie and Shubert Books) as well as weekly what your child's teacher is teaching from Second Steps via Facebooks, Talking Points and here in your newsletter.
Thank you being a part of our Bright Beginnings Family.
Wishing you Well this December!~Miss Melyssa

Here is a Dental Event that will happen on January 12 & 13 but it’s in Salina, KS. It’s a pretty great service they do! Below is the link with more information.
