Learning is FUN!
4th Grade is Raising Salmon
4th grade is working with ODFW to raise salmon! They are currently in the egg phase. Students have been learning about the survival requirements of salmon and some of the reasons for their endangered status.
Science in Nature
Mrs. Maben's students have been busy studying nature items found in fall! In writing time, all kindergarten students are writing in an "Observation Book" but during workstation time in room C113, they are further practicing their powers of observation as they carefully study items such as pumpkins, gourds, leaves and pinecones. They are encouraged to record their findings by drawing illustrations of the object and writing labels as they are able. This is one of the most popular centers each day!
Pumpkin Growth in Kinder
We have been studying Pumpkin growth at the start of the year and got to go to the pumpkin patch!
Panther Playground – The Playground of Possibilities
Panther Playground – The Playground of Possibilities
A central focus of our mission at Aumsville is to ensure all students from all backgrounds have equal access to their education and services. Our school community is privileged to offer several of the district’s Special Education programs. One dream we have dreamt about for a long time, is a playground that is not only accessible for all, but inclusive for ALL students. That means all students can access play.
Throughout the last two years, the Aumsville Admin Team and Cascade School District has worked with playground engineers who believe in, and are committed to designing inclusive playgrounds throughout the country.
Inclusive playgrounds go beyond making provisions for those with physical disabilities. Inclusive playgrounds are welcoming and engaging spaces, focused on access and inclusion for ALL children.
We are excited to present Cascade School District’s very first inclusive playground! Please join us for the Panther Playground ribbon cutting ceremony Monday, November 6 at 9am.
3rd Annual Aumsville Fall Food Fight!
Hello Panther Families!
It's that time of year again, it's time for the 3rd Annual Aumsville Fall Food Fight! This Fall food drive supports families in our Cascade community in partnership with a local community group. All the food items donated will support Cascade School District families in food boxes that will be passed out just before Thanksgiving. Last year we collected enough food to support over 100 families with fall and winter food boxes. This year, we are hoping to collect even more food to support these wonderful families. We will collect food items here at Aumsville from Monday 11/6 - Friday 11/17.
Each building, the K-2 and the 3-5, will compete to collect the most food. The building that collects the most food items will win and they will get to vote on a staff member to pie in the face at an assembly. If you have any questions about the Food Fight or what items you can send in, please reach out to your student's teacher.
Here are the items your student will collect:

Volunteers
It truly takes an “all hands on deck” mentality to run a school effectively. If you are interested in volunteering in your student’s class, chaperoning a field trip, or helping out behind the scenes, please begin the background check process found here or on the Cascade School District website on the “parents and students” page.
The background check process takes two-four weeks, is completely free, and lasts for two years. We recommend completing this early in the school year so as to avoid delay.
You no longer need to provide proof of COVID vaccination in order to volunteer.
Compliment Corner
Too often we underestimate the power of a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn life around. If you would like to publically compliment someone at Aumsville Elementary or a community partner at an Aumsville Elementary event, you may do so here.
The compliment will show up in the next Panther Periodical!
MIss Joi - You are incredible with kids and have great talent for connecting with kids !
