Maple Ridge Updates

Happy First Month of School!
Hello Maple Ridge Families,
I hope you have had a wonderful start to the school year and are excited to be establishing positive routines now that we are about halfway through first term. It is so exciting to see students making great academic progress and to see the great learning that takes place each day.
We have a number of upcoming events to be aware of and hope that you are following our field trip and classroom posts on our Facebook, Instagram, and our Maple Ridge website. Also, the Maple Ridge Calendar link at the top of this newsletter will connect to our most current online calendar.
This is the time of year when Utah weather really keeps us on our toes as far as being able to plan things in advance. Thank you for your understanding when field trips or outdoor events have to be rescheduled or when calling an inside/outside recess. Unfortunately it is really just our best guess--despite our multiple weather apps and sources.
Also, thank you for your support of our wonderful PTA Carnival and all of the time you spend on fieldtrips, in classrooms, and most importantly your efforts in helping your students be at school on time and prepared each day! Thank you for making school a priority and being our partners in education.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Matis

Student Safety
Officer Miller is in 5th grade classrooms each week at the beginning of the year teaching the NOVA program. We are so glad to have our officers demonstrating that student safety is a high priority!
We also are so glad to have our crossing guards (both official and unofficial) helping our students stay safe each day! Thank you for following best safety practices including the arrows and using drop off areas and crosswalks. PLEASE USE the SIDEWALKS and PAINTED CROSSWALKS to cross!
Please be aware that if students are arriving before 8:30 am (such as for school choir) or leaving later, there are not crossing guards at that time. School supervision begins at 8:45 am each day so please do not have students arrive before this time unless they are participating in a specific activity.
Lifetouch Fall Picture Day
Picture day is coming soon!
*All students at school will have their photo taken this day and will come down with their class. Students choosing to order pictures will need to have their order with them when their picture is taken. Please be aware that we will begin taking pictures right at the beginning of the school day.
*1:30-2:15 pm is set aside for younger sibling photos (students who are younger who do not attend school yet) should you choose to bring your younger children for this service. Please be aware that this is only for individual children and not groups.
Pictures will be taken on our school gymnasium stage. Picture packets have been sent home with students. We will have extra picture packets available with our volunteers that day. Or order online at lifetouch.com using the information below:
