A Message from Principal Choquette
We are very excited to welcome our students back, but also understand that some will be doing fully remote learning. For those students, your families chose the best option for you right now and although you will have new teachers, you are still very much a part of our BSS family and we will do everything we can to stay connected with you. We are looking forward to having everyone back in the fall. For now, be safe and stay healthy.
Please see the attached letter from Dr. Provost that went out to families on Friday regarding this week. There will be no in-person learning for students on Thursday and Friday of this week in order for teachers to move their classrooms and prepare for the return of fully in-person learning. Therefore, ALL students will work asynchronously on Thursday and Friday. This includes remote students as well.
Thank you and have a great week.

Walking School Bus Information
Attention BSS Families!
The Walking School Bus is ready and waiting to take your students to school!
You can choose from either the Sheldon Field route that leaves the Route 9 commuter lot at 8:25 or the Lumber Yard route that leaves from the courtyard of the Lumber Yard Homes on Pleasant Street at 8:15.
Each route has multiple stops at which your student may join before ending at BSS. Visit the WSB site for more information about each route.
Please note that masks are required for the walk to school.
**With the ramp up to full in person learning, the WSB is in need of drivers in order to run at full capacity through the rest of the year. Please contact Stephanie Pouliot if you or someone you know can volunteer your time to walk students to school. We will gladly accept whatever time you can offer!**
Ms. Lilly's Art Corner
BSS Art Corner
Hello Bridge Street School Families.
By now most families have picked up their bag of clay from school. I have included one extra package of clay for each student to use on their own to sculpt with, the rest for the clay is to use during art class. This is Air Dry clay so please do not try to put it in your oven to dry.
What your child made, or will make, during art class: Kindergarten: Sculpted clay Turtles and a habitat.
First Grade: Sculpted a pinch pot with or without a handle and added details to the cup. These are not meant to drink out of but can be used for decoration.
Second Grade: Sculpted their own creatures, with a habitat.
Third Grade: Sculpted a Hybrid Animal with a habitat.
Fourth Grade: Sculpted a pinch pot base and coiled sides.
Fifth Grade: Sculpted using some techniques they have learned over the years.
Enjoy these wonderful creations! Thank you, Ms. Lilly

Last week JFK counselors met with 5th grade classrooms for their orientation. Letters will be mailed out to all 5th grade caregivers the week of April 1st which will include caregiver ASPEN login information and step by step instructions for how to review their student's elective selection. We will open the window in ASPEN on March 31st and hope to have all 5th grade students complete their selection in ASPEN by April 7th. Students will be choosing their electives (band, chorus, study hall).

This is a great way to learn how to plug into the long term work of fighting white supremacy and practices of whiteness in our district, as we continue to work toward an anti-racist school community.
