Kindness
You will all be aware of the Crown Public Health Order - Mandate and the implications of the mandate for both Health and Education Sectors.
We here at Inglewood Primary ask everyone to be kind and 'reserve judgments'.
We ask that if we have staff away over the next five weeks, please do NOT pass judgement as to why.
There are many, many reasons that staff are away, the first and foremost is because we are human and NOT super human. We get sick, our children get sick, we have commitments we need to meet, just like the other humans.
As a school we have worked through the last few weeks, the way we always work, by modelling the REACH Values.
We respect ourselves and everyone else, we expect the best we can be, we achieve through opportunity, we communicate with kindness, we model Hauora so we ALL can feel safe in our school community.
We simply ask you all to do the same.
COVID19 PĀRONGO (INFORMATION) COVID19 CASES CONFIRMED IN STRATFORD
As many of you would have read last night or this morning, the Ministry of Health has confirmed six people with COVID-19 in Stratford. All six cases are clearly linked and there is also a link to the Auckland outbreak which is being further investigated. One person has been admitted to Taranaki Base hospital for assessment and the Public Health Unit is already conducting interviews and getting contact tracing underway.
The affected people are currently isolating at home. Their positive results explain the recent wastewater detections in Stratford. The Taranaki District Health Board will let us know any locations of interest once they have more details.
We, like you, will be listening to Ministry of Health & Education updates today and over the weekend and communicating with staff and community the necessary information.
If you want to keep up to date with the latest accurate information then follow Taranaki District Health Board on Facebook.
FINISH THE WEEK BY MAKING SOMEONE'S DAY
We know that when news of cases in a region happen, that there can be some anxiety amongst students, parents and staff. We will keep in touch.
Property Update - Health and Safety
We are expecting delivery of the buildings either on Friday 19 or Friday 26 November.
Please be VERY mindful of keeping OUT of the fenced off areas.
2022 Structure
We can confirm we will have the following teaching spaces:
1 x New Entrant class
3 x Year 1 & 2 classes

Enrolment at Inglewood School is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available on the school website, the website Education Counts, or from the school office.
This year there will be one enrolment period in November 2021 for Term 1 2022. Next year four enrolment periods. Dates are summarized below.
All applications must be received by 3pm 22 November 2021 for Term 1 2022. If a ballot for out of zone places is required, it will be held on 24 November 2021. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
The board is now inviting applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Inglewood Primary School starting within Term 1 2022.
The board has determined that 20 places from Year 1-8 are likely to be available for out-of-zone students within Term 1 2022. The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone.
The application form for enrolment is available from the school website, or from the school office.
Parents of students who live within the home zone should also apply by this date to assist the school to plan appropriately for 2022.
Please note, that if the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
All applications must be received by email to office@inglewood.school.nz by 3pm 22 November 2021.

We have been doing some mahi around Fairy Tales with Miss Roberston. This week our Fairy Tale has been The Three Little Pigs. First we read the traditional version of the Three Little Pigs and then we read another fractured version called The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. Then we looked at the similarities and differences between the stories and created a venn diagram. After that we focused on letter writing and the correct layout and how to write a letter.
Our task was to write a letter to the Wolf because in this story he goes to jail. Read some of our awesome letters below.

Dear Mr Wolf
I think you shouldn’t have eaten the pigs. I am quite angry at you for doing that. I’m sorry that you didn’t get your two cups of sugar to make a cake. You didn’t deserve too because of what you did to the little pigs.
Instead of sneezing their houses down you could have asked the pigs nicely or even gone to the shop to buy some yourself. Next time remember to be kind.
From your good friend

Dear Mr Wolf
I hope you are doing well in jail. It was really dreadful that you blew the pig’s houses down. Please use your manners when you're asking to come into other people’s property. Also don’t eat a pig even if he or she has died. You could have just something else instead like making a card for your Granny if you didn’t have any sugar for a cake or brought a cake. I hope you learn from your mistakes.
Yours Sincerely
Nonoi

Dear Mr Wolf
I think you should have stayed home and watched television or invited some friends to come over. You shouldn't have eaten the pigs because you would have gotten very full. When you didn’t have any sugar you could have done something else for Granny like wrote a letter or made a card.

Dear Mr Wolf
Are you feeling sad and mad because you went to jail for no reason?
You should have asked kindly to come into the pigs houses not sneeze their houses down. If you didn’t have any sugar for your cake you could have ordered some online and got it delivered to your house. Please think more positively before entering random houses and remember to make good choices. I hope you have learnt alot from this letter and have learnt your lesson.
Yours Faithfully
