This past week, Strongsville Middle School hosted a “Leadership Breakfast” which connected students with local business and community professionals. Students had an opportunity to participate in small groups and hear leadership advice from individuals representing several different industries. The breakfast also featured a keynote address from Mr. Brian Zimmerman, CEO of the Cleveland Metroparks. STRONGSVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL ART DEPARTMENT INVITES LOCAL ARTIST TO SPEAK TO 8TH GRADE
The Strongsville Middle School art department just completed a unit on Portrait Drawing with their 8th grade students. To tie in this lesson, they invited a visiting portrait artist to speak with the students. Stina Aleah was an outstanding high school athlete who faced an injury which forced her to rethink her identity as an athlete. She found an art class and a few teachers that believed in her and created what she describes as 'magic.' Beginning her career as a professional artist 7 years ago, she has created dozens of corporate collaborations with the NBA Influencers Program, Disney Marvel, and more! Her murals can also be seen publicly around Cleveland and in various restaurants including Condado in Strongsville.
MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - ‘MS. MELISSA’ (ADAMOVICZ), INTERVENTION SPECIALIST AT EARLY LEARNING PRESCHOOL
Ms. Melissa Adamovicz, Intervention Specialist at the Early Learning Preschool, has been a part of our District for four years. ‘Ms. Melissa’ (as her students and families know her) provides support and builds foundational skills with our Mini-Mustangs. She earned her undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University and her graduate degree from Cleveland State University.
“I enjoy building relationships with my students and their families. One of the highlights of teaching preschool is witnessing the pure joy and excitement that the students have for learning each day. I look forward to planning and developing exciting lessons that encourage my students to explore and discover. Their creativity, curiosity, and energy are inspiring. I love being a part of the amazing team at the preschool. Everyone shares the common goal of celebrating diversity while setting high expectations to foster the growth of each student. Each day brings new adventures,” said Ms. Adamovicz.
Thank you Ms. Melissa for being part of a special staff at our Early Learning Preschool and for helping to set our students on a positive path as they begin their educational journey! #WeAreStrongsville
