Dear Parents and Carers,
This week we have continued to see the children settle back well into their new classes. It feels like our youngest children have been in school far longer than they have. They are adapting to routines well and have a very high level of independence which is lovely. It was great to see so many new parents on Thursday at our welcome to Reception class meeting. If you require any further information, the EYFS team will be very happy to help.
School Library
I would like to show you our new seating area in the school library. Some of the summer fair funds raised last academic year were used to purchase some soft furniture to create a calm, relaxing reading corner and the children love it. Thank you once again for your contributions.
Reading book swap
You may remember that I asked for reading books to come in to school that your children no longer required so that we could expand our collection. Over the course of the last week, I have received bags full of books from so many families and we are extremely grateful for your generosity.
Pupil Parliament
I was absolutely overwhelmed by the effort that the children put into their Pupil Parliament applications. The children presented so well and confidently to their classes and I know their fellow peers found it a tough decision. As a result of having so many strong applications, I have extended the Green Party Membership. We will now have a Pupil Parliament Team and an Eco Green Team. We cannot wait to get started!
Well done to the following pupils (some pupils full names have been removed due to confidentially reasons)
Next Week
Attendance
As you know, attendance is always a priority in school and I know you will support us with ensuring your children are in school as much as possible. All attendance, particularly persistent absentees and lateness will continue to be monitored closely. Any pupil with attendance below 90% will trigger attendance monitoring and face to face meetings will be instigated.
Attendance this week: 97.8%
Overall: 97.8%
EYFS: 97%
Year 1: 98.3%
Year 2: 99%
Year 3: 100%
Year 4: 97.7%
Year 5: 95%
Year 6: 97.8%
Thank you as always for all your continued support in school. Have a lovely weekend everyone!
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Adams
