Strongsville High School recently announced plans for commencement, prom and after prom, and the academic recognition ceremonies that occur during the final weeks of every school year. It has been a year of adapting and adjusting, and that has been the case with preparing for these end of the year events. SCS RESPONSIBLE RESTART COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE
Our District has created the SCS Responsible Restart Comprehensive Guide - one document in one location outlining our District’s policies and procedures. This document should be used as a guide, allowing you to quickly find answers to your questions. The guide can also be found at www.strongnet.org/restart.
As we have seen throughout the pandemic, factors can change on a daily basis and this Guide will remain adjustable and flexible to respond to state and local health guidelines.
FACILITIES DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE SEEKING NEW MEMBERS
Strongsville City Schools offers several opportunities for community members to serve on Board of Education committees, with the goal of continued growth for our District. The Facilities Development Committee is focused on the maintenance of our buildings, as well as the vision for future growth and development of our physical space (land and buildings). SHS DANCE TEAM AUDITIONS - FRIDAY, 5/7 (5pm)
Interested in joining the 4th ranked dance team in the state for hip-hop and the 6th ranked team in the state for jazz? If you are a dancer currently in grades 8th-11th, auditions are being held for the SHS Dance Team on Friday, May 7th at 5:00pm in the main gymnasium at the high school. MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MRS. DANIELLE GOLOJA, 4TH GRADE TEACHER AT KINSNER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Mrs. Danielle Goloja started as a student teacher in our District at Zellers Elementary. She is now in her 26th year as an elementary teacher for Strongsville City Schools. After the closing of Zellers, Mrs. Goloja moved to Kinsner Elementary. She earned her undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University and her Master’s Degree from Cleveland State University.
“What I love best about working with my students is that they make each day a new and exciting experience. I get energized by the challenge to find creative and fun ways to present new concepts to them, and to see them get excited about what they are learning. I ‘eat up’ the times when they have great ideas and thoughts and questions to add to our lessons, to make it even more meaningful for them. They all have something to share that can add value to their own and their classmates’ learning. Kinsner students have made my career a passion. I am so fortunate to be able to get up every day and love where I am going and what I am doing.”
“Our Kinsner staff is a dedicated team of positive minded, hard working people. It may be a big building, but we can be confident that we are each other’s cheerleaders. My fourth grade team is a bonus second family. I can only do what I do with the help and support system of my partners. They say to ‘surround yourself with people who make you better, who help you grow, who love and celebrate you. You become a product of what you around.’ I thank my team, my building, and Strongsville students who help me be a better person and teacher each day,” said Mrs. Goloja.

STRONGSVILLE ATHLETIC BOOSTERS ANNUAL GOLF OUTING - FRIDAY, JUNE 11
Don’t miss the Strongsville Athletic Boosters annual golf outing, with proceeds benefiting the Mustangs athletic program. This year’s event will be held at Bunker Hill Golf Course on Friday, June 11. The day includes 18 holes of golf, breakfast and lunch on the course, and a dinner and auction. Click HERE to register as an individual golfer or as a golf foursome. Attention current fifth graders - don't miss your chance to zipline, swim, fish, and participate in lots of fun activities with your friends at the annual Sixth Grade Camp in the fall! The Sixth Grade Camp will be held at Skyview Ranch in Millersburg, Ohio from Friday, September 10 - Sunday September 12 (students attending the Sixth Grade Camp will be excused from school on Friday, September 10th). Cost per camper is $180.00 and includes transportation to/from Skyview Ranch, meals throughout the weekend, activities and rental fees, drawstring bag, camp t-shirt and hooded sweatshirt. Join Jeff Ellis' International Karate After School Enrichment Program, with 100% of the proceeds going toward Strongsville Elementary Schools. Strongsville Women’s League Art Contest Winners
The Arts and Culture Committee of the Strongsville Women’s League would like to thank all 70 children who entered the art contest that ran March 15 – April 15, 2021. We are very proud to announce the contest was very successful and well received, and we would like to thank all the students who entered. The judging panel of Councilman Jim Kaminski, Dare Officer Aaron Plut, and Strongsville Middle School Teacher, Lisa Bluemel met on April 26,, 2021. After careful deliberation, they have determined the following winners.
Category K-1: First Place – Samantha D. Grade 1, Second Place – Katie B. Kindergarten, Third Place – Maria W. Grade 1.
Category 2-3: First Place – Madelynn R. Grade 3, Second Place – Benjamin L. Grade 3, Third Place – Estella G. Grade 3.

We had four winners from Saint Joseph & John, two winners from Kinsner, one winner from Saint Ambrose, Muraski and Whitney Elementary. Congratulations all!
The winner’s art work will be displayed at the Strongsville Recreation Center in the lobby, starting Friday, April 30th through May 20, 2021. There will be an unveiling of the art work at 5:30 p.m. Friday evening and the winners will be awarded their prizes. Each of the nine students won a gift certificate – First Place won $25 to Maggie & Ellie’s Pottery and Art Studio, Second Place won $20 to Target, and Third Place winners won $10 to the Strongsville Spirit Shop. GOH Run Camps
GOH Run Youth running day camps provide an opportunity for young runners and those interested in running and physical activity to learn about the sport. We build confidence and character through team building, games, and activities that get everyone moving. We learn about nutrition, relaxation, and promote wellness. Strongsville Safety Village
Safety Village is a Strongsville Police Event designed to provide most of the same information delivered in Safety Town to the children of Strongsville that did not have a chance to attend Safety Town last year pre-kindergarten due to the Pandemic. Connecting for Kids (CFK) provides education and support to families who have concerns about their child. We serve all families, including those children with and without formal diagnoses. Computer Classes
Cuyahoga County Public Library offers computer classes for beginners to advanced. Classes are currently being held VIRTUALLY using the program Screenleap which requires a web browser and an internet connection. There is no additional software to download. Google Chrome is the recommended browser. A valid email address is required for registration. Registrants will receive an email with a link to join the class at least an hour before the start time.
