As we begin our final month of school, we have a lot of fun things going on alongside a lot of learning still! A couple things to take note of - we are encouraging walking and riding to school on Wednesday to promote wellness and health. Please plan accordingly so that your child arrives to school on time. We will have some light snacks out front and a large poster for kids to sign.
Also - reminder that we have Ninja Nation on Friday. Be sure to turn in the waiver so that your kiddo can participate.
Thank you to our amazing PTA and all of you for the great teacher appreciation week! We are feeling spoiled, cared for, and valued! This is truly such a generous and fantastic community!

Fitness Fun Day AND Ninja Nation, FRIDAY, MAY 5, 2023!
Fitness Fun Day is back and it will be combined with Ninja Nation, on FRIDAY, MAY 5, 2023! Fitness Fun Day is our school's version of a field day, and all students will get to participate! This year with fitness fun day being combined with ninja nation, your student will be able to participate on the ninja course for half of their time, and participate in fun fitness field stations designed by our very own 5th grade students for the other half of their time. Students will follow their Specials schedule for their field time. See schedule below. We also need volunteers to help make this event a success! Please see the volunteer link below for opportunities to help. We are looking forward to a great event!

It is already time to think about the 2023-2024 school year!

THIS WEEK is Teacher Appreciation Week!
The PTA will be providing lots of fun treats for teachers and staff throughout the week, but we are asking for families to help with a couple of them! Please thank our teachers for all they do for our kids! If you'd like to thank the teachers on your own, you can find the list of staff members' favorite things here.
Tuesday, May 2: Dessert Bar for Teachers! Please bring a sweet treat for staff! Drop items off before school on Tuesday, May 2. Sign up here!
Friday, May 5: Lunch for Teachers! The PTA will be providing a catered lunch from Eats & Sweets for staff. Please sign up to provide chips or drinks to pair with the lunch. Drop off items after school on Thursday, May 4, or before school on Friday, May 5. Sign up here!
Dining Night Out - Liquid Mechanics, May 4
We'll be holding our FINAL Dining Night Out event of the year at Liquid Mechanics (297 N. Hwy 287, Lafayette) THIS Thursday, May 4, from 5–8pm! Liquid Mechanics will donate 10% of ALL beer sales (not food truck) that evening to Ryan—no need to show a flyer or mention Ryan! We hope to see you there!
End of the Year BBQ, May 25
The PTA will be hosting a BBQ to celebrate the end of the year on the last day of school, Thursday, May 25, at Whitetail Park (2550 Autumn Ridge Blvd, Lafayette) from 4–7pm! The PTA will provide hotdogs and hamburgers (including vegetarian options), and we ask families to bring a side to share and drinks for your family. Come enjoy this fun family event and celebrate everything that our kids have accomplished this year!

2023-2024 BVSD Health Services Department Requirements
Registering for Buses 2023-24 School Year
You may have already received this email from BVSD Transportation Department if your student is eligible to ride the school bus, please sign up prior to the deadline of July 1st.
If you need help setting up your parent portal, please contact jamie.hanes@bvsd.org.
As we begin to plan bus routes for the 2023-24 school year, we are asking families to register for the bus, so we know how many students to plan for at each school. This data will help us maximize the number of students we are able to transport next year.
If you need your child to ride the bus for the 2023-24 school year, please register for bus service on Infinite Campus. Registration opens May 1 and closes on Jul. 1 at 5 p.m.
Instructions to register your student(s) for the bus in IC are shown below.
As you may have heard, BVSD is continuing to face a bus driver shortage. For this reason, we are asking that families who have the ability to transport their own students to school do so in order to free up space on our buses for children who have no other way to get to school.
If you know someone who is looking for a part-time job with benefits, including health insurance, please encourage them to apply to be a bus driver here. BVSD provides all training to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL).

Bus Registration Instructions
Log in to the Infinite Campus parent account. If you don’t have an account, directions on how to set one up can be found here.
Once logged in, select the “More” button on the left-hand side of the screen.
Next, select the “Transportation Options” link on the right side of the screen, located under the heading “Quick Links.”
You will see a list of all of your BVSD students. Click on your student(s) and answer the questions.
Bus stop locations and times will be posted in IC in early August under the BVSD Bus Stops Schedule tab. This tab will be blank for students who have not registered.
Please do not send your child to the bus stop if you have not been assigned to a route.

Vacation/Attendance Reminder
We understand sometimes our students need to be out for an extended period of time, we encourage you to be in touch with your child's teacher as students are responsible for making up missed work upon their return. BVSD policy requires that after 10 absences all absences are marked as unexcused without a doctor's note. If you know your child will be out for more than 3 days or longer, please fill out this form and contact the attendance line at 720-561-7002.
