This week, we will have anti-vaping assemblies. As we are all aware, vaping has become a serious health crisis in New Jersey and around the country. New legislation has just been introduced to ban vaping flavors. We have partnered with Hackensack Meridian Health to support us in getting the message out to our students on the dangers of vaping. There will be three grade-level assemblies this morning at the high school. On Tuesday, there will be one more assembly at the high school in the morning, and then two grade-level assemblies at the middle school in the later morning.

Midterm Exams will take place on Thursday, January 30, Friday, January 31, and Monday, February 3. Please refer to your school exam schedule. There will be early dismissal for students on these days.

What is digital learning?

Digital learning is any type of learning that is accompanied by technology or by instructional practice that makes effective use of technology.

Daily tutoring and homework assistance will precede enrichment activities running from 4 PM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday.

Activities include:

Founded in 2010 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, the Academy for Urban Leadership Charter School is one of Middlesex County's comprehensive Public Charter Schools that serves students in seventh through twelfth grades. The school operates under the terms of a charter granted by the New Jersey Department of Education.

When the school first opened in 2010, it did not have the books, tables, or classrooms necessary for students to be in an adequate learning environment. Even the principal, at the time, had to serve as a lunch aide. Since then, AUL has developed to help students receive the education they deserve. AUL has expanded by opening two new campuses, expecting to provide the opportunity for students to continue to succeed, with graduation and college admission, as two of its goals.

AUL offers an advanced academic track and AP courses.
