Rio Norte News - November 3, 2023
A Note From the Principal
Good Morning River Hawk Families,
What a fun week! Halloween was a GREAT success, our PE teachers put on a fun little show, and we saw some pretty unique and clever costumes! Additionally, we launched our digital SOAR Bucks program where our staff now have the ability to scan students' ID cards to issue SOAR bucks, which students redeem at brunch in our SOAR Store. Thank you to all the parents donating items for us! SOAR bucks are issued for students making great choices that align with our SOAR motto. Admin visited a few classes this week to reward students that were on-time to class. You can help us out by ensuring your student has their ID card with them every day. Replacement ID cards can be obtained for $5 in the library.
This week brings our annual ALL Junior High Cross Country Meet where our Rio Norte team will compete against our fellow district junior high teams. PTSA is in need of donations and volunteers to help make this a great success for our athletes. Please see the Sign-up Genius Link under my message. Additionally, this week marks the end of the Progress Reporting Period for Quarter 2, on Thursday, November 9th (no school Friday for Veteran's Day). Students should be communicating with each teacher about missing assignments and following their scores on Infinite Campus. Grades will post to Infinite Campus the following Tuesday, 11/14.
We also hope you'll join PTSA this Wednesday for our Sharky's Restaurant Night - Sharky's will donate a percentage of your meal for Lunch or Dinner!
