Dear Talley Street Community,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I hope everyone is having a great summer! We are excited to see our students return to the school building. The 23-24 school year is Talley Street’s 5th year. That is so hard to believe! Together, we have created a wonderful school community. Our theme this year is “Thrive in Year 5.” It’s going to be the best year yet! Our custodial staff has done a great job getting the school ready for August 1st. I want to publicly thank them for their hard work! If you see one of our custodians, please be sure to express your gratitude as well.

Our mission at Talley Street is “to invest in the lives of our students by nurturing creative, knowledgeable risk-takers who will become leaders of our global community.” We are committed to meeting the needs of ALL students.

We are excited to sort our new 3rd graders into one of our six Houses. The House leaders have planned an exciting and fun first day of school. Who will take the House championship away from Isibindi this year?

The Annual Data Update for returning CSD families is open! The ADU is how families verify or update critical communication and health information, and do sign-offs for the handbook and code of conduct. Monday, July 31st, is our “Meet and Greet.” Talley Street’s faculty and staff will welcome families from 1:00-3:00. The “Meet and Greet” is the chance for students to meet their teachers before the first day of school on August 1st. The “Meet and Greet” is not designed to ask teachers detailed questions. Please reserve those questions for our curriculum night on August 24th.

If your child needs bus transportation, please use this link to sign up. Once you have registered, CSD’s Transportation Department will reach out to you with the route information..

Our PTO does an amazing job supporting the school and our students. I encourage you to join the PTO and become involved by volunteering your time and talents. The first PTO event is the popsicle social on Saturday, August 5th. You can find out more information on the PTO’s website at https://talleypto.org.

Hello from PTO! Mark Your Calendars—Important Back-to-School Dates!

How is the summer already almost over?!? As you soak up the last moments of summer break, mark your calendars with these important Talley events coming up. More details about each to come, but here's what you need to know now:

July 24: Join the PTO

Our new PTO website will go live on Monday, July 24th, and we want you to signup as a member! Lookout for a post on how and where...

July 27: Teacher Assignments Available

You'll be able to log on to Infinite Campus to learn your kids' teachers for the upcoming year!

July 31: Meet and Greet at the School!

From 1 to 3 pm that day drop in to Talley to meet your child's homeroom teacher and other Talley staff and teachers. Also swing by our PTO table to meet some PTOers and score some Talley swag!

August 1: First Day of School and House Assignments

The Talley staff and teachers having an amazing day full of fun and surprises planned for students on the first day of school. New students and staff will also be assigned to their Houses. Please volunteer to help out with the festivities by signing up here:

August 5: Popsicle Social

Join the PTO for a refreshing treat at our Popsicle Social at Talley on Saturday the 5th from 10-12! It's an excellent opportunity to mingle, meet other families, and enjoy some icy goodness while getting excited about the year ahead.
