Message From The Principal
Happy Sunday!
Last week I was really emphasizing the opportunity that students have to catch up on missed credits by making the most of their Credit Recovery class. Hopefully, you've had an opportunity to talk with your student about their progress on the different classes that they're making up! Remember, all you have to do is ask your student to log into Edgenuity on their school-issued IPAD and you can see how much progress they're making on each online class that they're taking! There's still time to turn things around by dedicating some time each day to Edgenuity classes!
Attendance Matters
The flip side of working hard to earn make-up credits is the obvious point that being at school everyday is directly related to catching up on (and staying on top of) all the school work! After all, students definitely need to not only earn the online credits BUT ALSO THE CREDITS/CLASSES they're taking at school!
There’s an old saying that “80% of success in life involves ‘just showing up’”…and although there TRULY IS A LOT MORE INVOLVED in being successful than just being physically present, being physically present at school everyday IS A REALLY GOOD START!!
If attendance is a problem with your child then it will be more difficult for her/him to earn credits that are necessary for graduation on June 9, 2023! Start today by checking attendance and grades in Infinite Campus for your student. If attendance is low then credits and graduation may be in jeopardy. Have a conversation with your student about how she/he can improve attendance.
Improved attendance generally means EARNING MORE CREDITS, which generally leads to A GREATER CHANCE OF GRADUATION! And that's something that we all want!!
If you have questions or concerns please give us a call! We want to help!!
Lock Down Drill
Finally, I want you to know that this coming Thursday we’ll be having a lockdown drill around 9:55 am.
Lockdown Drill
Thursday, 3/9/23
9:55 am
The drill is part of our ongoing commitment to practicing safety measures that help keep us prepared and safe. If you are coming to school for a meeting or planning on picking up your son/daughter at that time you may notice that the front doors are locked. Our drill will only take about 10-12 minutes.
Here's to a great week of school attendance, earning credits towards graduation, and school safety!!!

FOOD DELIVERY
Students may NOT order food to be delivered to school through Grub Hub, Door Dash, Uber Eats or any food delivery. If a parent brings food in, it must be left with the front office and the student may pick it up during lunch time only.

Teenage years are a critical time when guys and girls make choices that affect the rest of their lives. The empowerment groups provide a safe place where teens can talk about what is really going on in their lives, and a community of mentors and peers who listen, believe in them and help them make better choices. This approach gives teens permission to tell the truth about the challenges all teens face, make their own decisions on how to deal with those challenges, and begin to take responsibility for their choices and the consequences of their actions. It also provided tools needed to navigate through the teen years and transition positively into adulthood.
