Dear Dunning Community!
It is so hard to believe that this is my last Notes From the Office!
As I wrote earlier in the year when I announced my retirement, I have had the privilege of being part of the Framingham community for the past 36 years, both as a parent and educator. When I moved to Framingham in 1986, I never imagined that I would one day be a principal of one its many elementary schools! For the past nine years I have been honored to work alongside the incredibly talented Dunning staff, who always go above and beyond to support students, as well as the families, who are always so supportive of our school.
I have known many of you and your families for the nine years that I have been at Dunning! At the end of every school year, the Fifth Grade Fond Farewell is always so bittersweet because of the number of families that will be leaving the Dunning community. This year will be even more bitter sweet.
I cannot thank you all enough for welcoming me into the Dunning Community and always being so supportive. I will miss all of you and your children greatly.
With much gratitude,
Michele
End of Year Medication Pick-up
All student medications that have been kept at school this year MUST BE PICKED UP by the end of the school day Thursday June 22, 2023 or they will be discarded per FPS medication policy. This includes epi-pens and inhalers. Medications cannot be stored over the summer under any circumstances. If your child will require medication(s) in school next year a new doctors order is required when medication is dropped off in September. Please reach out to your school nurse is you have any questions.
Move Along Day, Grades K-4
In keeping with practices at all other elementary schools in Framingham, we will be handling class placements differently this year and will not be sharing class placements until mid summer. Class placements will be shared with families by email.
Given this change, Move Along Day will be structured differently so that students meet as a whole grade level to meet the next year's teacher team. The goal of this meeting is for them to meet the teachers and hear about highlighted details specific to that grade level.
