Green Team Zero Waste Lunch Day
To bring attention to everyday waste, Green Team is encouraging students to bring their lunch from home on Thursday, May 4th, and to try to do so in a way that results in nothing being thrown in the trash that isn’t easily biodegradable. We have also worked with the cafeteria to offer a low waste option that day.
Instead of single serve chips or cookies in a plastic bag, pack sandwiches and snacks from family size containers in a smaller reusable container or bring whole fruit.
Use reusable silverware and cloth napkins.
Bring your own reusable drink bottles.
Forego plastic straws.
Try to pack right-size portions to eliminate food waste.
Do an internet search for "Waste Free Lunch" for more ideas.
Every student who brings a waste free lunch will have their name put into a drawing for a Zero Waste Lunch prize! We will do a drawing for each lunch period. Students who finish everything on their tray will be eligible to enter the drawing for a prize from Green Team! Thanks for Going Green at St. Eugene!

Please Pray For...
Please pray for the mother of Elbin Gonzalez who passed away last week in Guatemala. Eternal Rest grant unto them, oh Lord, and let Perpetual Light shine upon her. Elbin is our school custodian and a parishioner. If you would like to contribute to a fund to help offset his travel expenses, contact the school or church office.
Please pray for former St. Eugene pastor, Father Joseph Jacobi, that he recovers quickly and completely from last week's brain surgery, and that his body may be healed. | Please pray for Stacy Hughes, cousin of Mrs. Goldsworthy and of Mrs. Ruffin. She has been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. | Please pray for the intentions of the Holy Father, as well as those of your family and friends. | Please pray for the healing and comfort of Sasha, granddaughter of CSSE friend Belva Neal.
If you would like to include something in the Prayer Requests section, please contact Kim Hattaway at media@steugeneschool.org.
