What a fun and busy week here at Montgomery. Thank you to everyone who came out to support Math Night. A special thanks to Mr. Shaver for planning such a wonderful event for our families to explore mathematics together. An additional huge thank you to our PTO for our first Montgomery Aviator Dash! The students enjoyed dashing to Swaim Park while raising money for a new playground and other needed items at Montgomery. We are so fortunate to have such supportive families!
Enjoy the weekend!
Amy

All new and returning students need an Art Shirt that can stay at school to protect clothing from Art materials. Please send in an OLD T-SHIRT (only slightly larger than your child’s size) ASAP.
Pull-overs are preferable for maximum coverage and dressing independence.
The Art room has a supply of extra art shirts for temporary or permanent loan. If you need one, please let Mrs. Carroll know.
Over-sized long-sleeve shirts can be a hazard to the student and a magnet for mess, please avoid sleeves that hang past the students’ wrists.
Aprons and smocks are not preferred as they can cover less of the students’ clothing and/ or be harder for the student to put on independently.
Art Shirt Procedures
Art shirts will be worn at all times in the Art room, regardless of circumstance.
Unfortunately, there are no guarantees that all Art accidents will miss your child’s school clothes, even with an Art shirt on. Although most of the materials in the Art room are washable, there is always a chance that even washable materials may not completely wash out, depending on color, fabric, and time. Please be assured that appropriate action will be taken to avoid mess and prevent stain. However, it is strongly suggested that you not send your child to school in their newest or best clothing (especially light colors) on their Art day.
Dear Montgomery Families,
1). Fall Fundraiser - Montgomery Elementary Mighty Aviator Dash.
We had such a wonderful time at our first ever Mighty Aviator Dash (MAD) today! Thank you to our students for working so hard to collect pledges, and to our families for your generous support.
The top student per grade and the top homeroom class for each grade are too close to call.
PledgeStar will remain open for new pledges until Monday. Monday afternoon we will announce the winners of the scooter, hoverboard or gift cards for each grade and the top homeroom classes that will have a pizza party on Thursday. The ice cream truck will also be at the school this Thursday with a frozen treat for every student!
