Greetings TexQuestrians!

Happy New Year everyone! We look forward to the many opportunities we will have in assisting educators across the great state of Texas in learning about and using TexQuest digital resources.

While this year has started off with some bumps in the road, we hope all gets better and our educators and students are healthy and well. In the meantime, your TexQuest Support Center team is here to assist in any way we can.

Britannica will be hosting a webinar titled, Teaching Black History Through Media Literacy with Britannica, on February 1 at 3:00 p.m. CST, or February 2 at 3:00 p.m CST. Register for either of these sessions or others on their provider support page.

Gale In Context resources have a wealth of resources that can be used for Black History Month. Not sure where to start? Watch the recorded webinar, Celebrate Black History Month with Gale In Context Resources, to get some ideas!

Visit TeachingBooks and take a peek at their list titled "Black Experiences: Affirmation and Resilience, Activism and Resistance in 45 Books for PreK-Grade 12," sponsored by the Cooperative Children's Book Center (CCBC). This extensive resource list contains books by famous authors such as Jason Reynolds, Kwame Alexander, Jacqueline Woodson, and more. Share this list with students, teachers, parents, ANYONE! Beautiful and inspiring books are meant to be shared.

EBSCO eBooks are easily shared with students, teachers, and parents. Simply find a book or list of books you would like to share, click on the Permalink option, copy, and SHARE! All EBSCO eBooks are available simultaneously with no limit! Every student in your class can access the same book at the same time.

Learn360 has added several Black History Month topics to the sliders on their landing page. Visit their page to view the wide variety of topics available from the marches for peace in Selma to Maya Angelou.

Students can easily navigate the available biographies in ProQuest SIRS Discoverer. Up-to-date articles are available in each biography with an easy-to-follow time line documenting important events in a person's life. Visit this biography of Jacqueline Woodson and find out for yourself how truly easy the articles are to read.

TexQuest Program

TexQuest is a statewide digital resources program that provides anytime, anywhere access to high quality, authoritative digital resources to all educators, students, and students' immediate families in Texas K-12 public schools and open enrollment charter schools. Supported, in part, by appropriations from the Texas State Legislature, Texas districts pay a small per student participation fee to gain access to TexQuest resources from the providers listed on this page.

The Texas State Library and Archives Commission administers all aspects of the TexQuest program and is responsible for the selection and coordination of all TexQuest resources, as well as district invoicing.

Education Service Center, Region 20 serves as the TexQuest Support Center and is responsible for help desk, technical assistance, outreach, communication, and training to support the program.
