Allie and I wish you a wonderful weekend. Below are a few things to put on your radar.

• We would like to extend a special thank you to Jen Bates and other volunteers for their help in organizing Picture Day. Everything went smoothly and we are excited to see our beautiful pictures in the coming weeks.
• We will have Parent/Teacher Conferences on October 21st and 22nd. A sign-up will be sent to parents in the next week or so. Be on the lookout for a separate email from Mrs. Buch.
• We are continuing to look for ways to create a safe environment for students in our lunchroom. Staff will provide reminders to students to put their masks back on once they have finished eating. This will lessen our chances for close contacts in the lunchroom.

SHIELD testing will occur every Tuesday from 9:15 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. We are looking for parent volunteers who are willing to help supervise and assist students while in the Commons providing their samples. Please email Mrs. Buch at abuch@sd25.org if you are interested in helping out!

Students and staff will participate in the first of three fire drills on Tuesday at approximately 2:15 pm to continue preparing for emergencies. This first drill will be conducted with members of the AHFD.

While no one wants to think about having an emergency at school, we want to make sure our students and staff are prepared. The goal is to make sure everyone knows what to do should an emergency arise. We encourage you to have continued conversations with your children about school and community safety. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

Ms. Carey and Ms. Welch are offering 4th and 5th graders an opportunity to participate in the fall book club. Students will read and discuss Can You See Me? (see flyer below for details). Click here to register.
