CDW Weekly Wrap-Up
November 22, 2023
New Information from Principal Santa
Thank You!
As we approach Thanksgiving, I just wanted to take this time to thank the CDW parents and staff for their collaboration and partnership that continues to foster a successful learning environment for the students.
Getting Crafty Club
With their creativity, the Getting Crafty Club with Ms. Connor has created amazing crafts such as CANDLES! Yes, that's right, the students made their very own candles on Tuesday. The students were even able to choose a color and a scent for the candles.
NV Eagles Juniors Win the Super Bowl!
The NV Eagles Junior had a huge win last weekend over Westwood with a score of 14-12. The players did not give up and scored in the last 30 seconds of the game to capture the Super Bowl title! We are so proud of all of the CDW players and coaches!
OId Tappan 5th/6th Grade Rec Team
The 5th/6th Girls Rec Team won their league tournament this past Saturday with wins against Demarest and Emerson. Way to go Girls! You make your CDW community proud!
CDW Schedule Survey
We want to hear from you! The scheduling surveys are being used to gather input from all of our families, students (Grades 5-8), and CDW teachers to assist with the process of possibly changing the CDW Master Schedule. The survey will be available until December 1, 2023.
For the family survey, please use this link.

8th Grade Information:
If your child is applying to any of the BCA/Tech programs, the application is due by November 30th. Once the application is submitted, the teachers and Ms. Adamo will receive the necessary forms they need to complete.
Please continue to check Ms. Adamo’s Google Classroom for information regarding applying to other high schools and/or for the transition process to NVOT.
5th Grade Information:
On Monday, November 20th, Ms. Adamo taught another lesson from the Ignite your Shine program. This month’s lesson was on H: Heart. Students created a list of things they are passionate about or love to do. Then, they shared their reasons for enjoying the activity with their classmates. The take away from this lesson is to teach students a coping skill they can utilize when they are feeling a negative emotion. By visualizing or participating in what you are passionate about, it can help you feel better about yourself and remember that you are good at many things!
Reminders for all grades:
Wellness Wednesday lunches:
Grades 5 and 6 lunch with Ms. Adamo is in room 414.
Grades 7 and 8 lunch with Dr. Polizotto is in room 308.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s academic, social or emotional needs, please contact me at adamoj@nvnet.org or 201-664-1475 ext. 2203.

Volunteers play a huge part in the PTO and what we are able to offer our students and teachers. Without volunteers, many of the programs that students, teachers, and families enjoy will not be able to happen. Volunteer descriptions can be found at: OTPTO.org under "More Info" and then "Flyers."
If you have interest in joining the PTO Board, joining or running a committee, or just want to learn more- please reach out to the PTO by visiting OTPTO.org and selecting "Contact Old Tappan PTO" under the Help tab.
