Updates and Reminders
March 10, 2022
A Few Highlights!
1. Spring Break 2022 is almost upon us. Our schools will be closed March 21 - April 1. We will return on Monday, April 4 for the final 8 weeks of the 21-22 school year. Please refer to the 21-22 Academic Calendar button below and plan accordingly1
2. We have received the guidance and recommendations from the IDOH and the HCHD regarding the transition for contact tracing and quarantines. With our extremely low number of positive cases for C-19 and manageable effort for contact tracing notification, we are staying the course with our processes through the first couple of weeks following spring break. We respect each individual's choice in regards to masks, vaccinations, quarantines, etc. in an effort to continue to provide in person instruction for our students! Teamwork makes the Dream work!
3.The C-19 vaccines & boosters are available to everyone age 5+ and the most effective way to prevent serious illness and hospitalization from the virus. We will send updates for the availability of the vaccines through Hendricks Regional Health & the Hendricks County Health Department. The C-19 vaccines are also available at local pharmacies.
4. We need everyone to continue to do their part in minimizing the spread of Covid-19. Daily health screenings by everyone is imperative. Covid-19 symptomatic individuals or symptomatic individuals for other illnesses need to stay home. If you are getting tested, please stay home until you receive the results. If a family member tests positive, it is recommended for all family members to quarantine to substantially reduce the spread. Please report absences to our schools.
5. The labor shortage and Covid-19 have impacted our school bus transportation department. We have needed to consolidate bus routes, may need to consolidate further, and may need to eliminate routes. We will need all families to prepare accordingly for alternative transportation in an emergency situation and potentially long-term. We will continue to explore other opportunities associated with school bus transportation (bus driver recruiting, walking zones, parent transportation, etc.). Your cooperation and understanding are appreciated and expected. Please consider joining our transportation team as a bus driver and/or passing along the opportunity to others. The application process and paid training information are available on our website.
6. On Friday, February 25, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) eliminated the mask requirement for schools buses. Masks are no longer required on MCCSC school buses. Please adjust accordingly!
