North High Presents "The Pajama Game"
Showtimes: Friday, Nov. 17 @ 7:30 PM; Saturday, Nov. 18 @ 7:30 PM; Sunday, Nov. 19 @ 3 PM
Join the North High Junior Players as they perform the timeless musical, The Pajama Game. This musical unfolds the story of love and labor relations in the unlikely setting of a pajama factory. At the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory, the workers toil away while sparks fly between Babe Williams, the leader of the union grievance committee, and Sid Sorokin, the new factory superintendent. Their tumultuous relationship leads to a clash between management and labor in this sizzling musical comedy that will have audiences tapping their toes and laughing in the aisles. With its fun and splashy production numbers, The Pajama Game is must-see event for theater enthusiasts of all ages.
South High Presents "The Addams Family"

Join Theatre South for this comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family! The Addams Family: School Edition features an original story that’s every father’s worst nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

Nov. 28 - Community Ed Winter Registration
Registration for the Community Ed Winter 2024 session will open on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 9 AM. Courses include a mix of in-person and online classes in the areas of creative arts and crafts, fitness and movement, games and hobbies, literature and writing, history, performing arts and entertainment, personal development, and world languages. Dec. 1 - Universal Pre-Kindergarten Registration for 2024-25
Online registration for the GNPS Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program (UPK) for the 2024–25 school year will open on Friday, Dec. 1, and remain open through the end of the school year. UPK is a half-day program offered to all district residents at no cost. In order to be eligible, children must be 4 years old by Dec. 1, 2024. The online application and instructions for submitting necessary documents are available on the district website at www.greatneck.k12.ny.us/Page/16612.
Parents are strongly encouraged to register their child(ren) for UPK during the “Early Registration” period from Dec. 1 through Dec. 20. Only applications that have met all submission requirements will be considered if a lottery is needed to determine student placement in a morning or afternoon session.
Dec. 4 - Adult Learning Center ESL & GED Classes
If you are an adult and want to learn English or improve your English-language skills, or if you want to earn a high school equivalency diploma, the GNPS Adult Learning Center offers a variety of classes during the day and evening designed to meet your needs. Individuals may register for Adult Learning Center classes on the first business Monday of every month. The Adult Learning Center offers the convenience of beginning the registration process online through FamilyID. For more information, visit www.greatneck.k12.ny.us/alc.

GNPS/TV programs are student-produced and reflect the offerings of the Great Neck Public Schools. Programs are available on demand, 24/7, on the district website at www.greatneck.k12.ny.us/Page/14251. South High Opera, "Le Nozze di Figaro"
Airing times: 7 AM, 12:30 PM, 6 PM
Every year, the South High School Performing Arts Department presents a professional-caliber opera production that is staged, costumed, and performed with full orchestra by students. Tune in to GNPS/TV to watch the full-length performance of South High's opera, Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro), from spring 2023.
South Middle Spotlight
Airing times: 9:30 AM, 3 PM, 8:30 PM
South Middle Spotlight includes school highlights from spring 2023 including the annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser, career day, Relay for Life field day, and a montage from the musical production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Focus on Education
Airing Times: 10 AM, 3:30 PM, 9 PM
Focus on Education is a longstanding GNPS/TV series highlighting what’s new and interesting in the Great Neck Public Schools. For the first episode of this school year, Board of Education President Rebecca Sassouni hosts a conversation with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth R. Bossert, who joined the district in August 2023.
North High Documentary, "Names, Not Numbers"
Airing times: 11 AM, 4:30 PM, 10 PM
This film documents the experiences of three Holocaust survivors as told through in-person interviews and research conducted by 15 North High School students. Names, Not Numbers© is an interactive multimedia Holocaust Oral History Film Documentary project created by educator Tova Rosenberg. The program is generously supported by a prominent national foundation.
