Conley Chronicle
September 2023
From the Desk of Mrs. Shore
Dear Conley Coyotes,
As we approach the halfway point of this quarter, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the incredible achievements and exciting milestones we've reached thus far. Our parent-teacher conferences provided valuable opportunities for open dialogue and collaboration, ensuring our students receive the support they need to excel. We embarked on a series of enriching field trips, expanding our horizons beyond the classroom walls. Student council elections showcased our students' leadership abilities and their dedication to making our school a better place. Additionally, our Step It Up Fundraiser has been a tremendous success, not only raising vital funds for our programs but also fostering a sense of community and teamwork. We are proud of our collective accomplishments and look forward to the rest of the quarter with enthusiasm and determination.
In addition to our academic achievements, we are also preparing to honor our heroes on Patriot's Day, September 11th. It's a time for us to come together as a community to remember and pay tribute to the brave individuals who made sacrifices on that fateful day in 2001. In classrooms across our school, students will be engaging in activities designed to educate them about the significance of this day and the resilience of our nation. We will begin the morning with a flag-raising ceremony, a symbol of our unity and unwavering commitment to the values that make our country strong.
As we navigate the coming weeks, please remember that there will be no school on Labor Day, Monday, September 4th, providing a well-deserved break for our hardworking students and dedicated staff. As we approach fall break, October 2nd to October 16th, let's continue to work together to finish this quarter strong. We are grateful for your unwavering support of our school, including your enthusiastic participation in the PTO's first fundraiser of the year. Lastly, here's to hoping for cooler weather, and a chance for the kids to have recess daily, as we embrace the upcoming autumn season here in Arizona. Thank you for being an integral part of our Conley community, and we look forward to a successful and enjoyable quarter ahead.
Warmest regards,
Mrs. Shore
Congratulations Mrs. Smith
We're thrilled to share some exciting news! Mrs. Smith, our dedicated math specialist, has been selected to take on a new role as the Dean of Students at Hartford Elementary, beginning September 11th. She's moving on to an important administrative position, and we're very proud of her. While we'll miss her as our math specialist, we know she'll make a positive impact in her new role.
Conley Traffic Update
We recently met with the City of Chandler to discuss our school's traffic pattern, and we'd like to share some important updates and changes to ensure the safety and efficiency of our drop-off and pick-up procedures.
Firstly, the City of Chandler has informed us that parking along Arrowhead is not allowed as it is designated as a bike lane. To enforce this, "No Parking" signs will be installed in the coming weeks. Please be mindful of this and refrain from parking in this area.
Additionally, it is essential to note that we are not permitted to direct traffic on Arrowhead. For the safety of all, we kindly ask that those exiting Conley East onto Coyote Way turn right only. These rules are in place to safeguard our crossing guards and ensure the safety of all our students and families.
Another area of concern is the left turn into the parking lot from Arrowhead. Unfortunately, we cannot stop traffic to allow left turns. To maintain a smooth flow of traffic, it is advisable for all vehicles to enter Arrowhead from Frye Road.
The City's most significant suggestion is to utilize the drive-thru lane for drop-off and pick-up. This method, where our staff assists students getting in and out of vehicles, has proven to be the safest and most efficient way to manage traffic flow. It helps prevent accidents and ensures everyone's safety during these busy times.
We sincerely appreciate your cooperation in following these traffic guidelines. Safety is our top priority, and together, we can make our school's traffic flow smoother and safer for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and commitment to our school community.
