Whale Comparison between number one and number two!
This week, I finished my second crocheted whale. I've added pictures to compare and contrast the two.
These were both made with the exact same pattern! Click the picture to see which pattern I used.
The blue whale is my first attempt, the pink is my second. Overall, the pink whale had much tighter stitching, I didn't have to take it apart and redo it 6 times like the first. I still had some issues, especially with the tail, and adding in the colour change pattern.
A Tall Tail
Blue Whale
Here is the blue whale's tail. You can see a bit of lopsidedness, lots of gaps in the stitching, and very visible stitching attaching it to the body.
Pink Whale
I ran out of pink thread so made a white tail... we work with what we have! The tail is still a little wonky, but much cleaner stitches and neater stitching to the body.
Here's a whale!
I gave it bigger eyes, for extra cuteness!
You can see the stitching is much tighter, and the fins are more uniform than the first whale
Woops
I used the colour change variety of the pattern, but didn't realize I had to hide the thread on the inside of the whale.... so there are some lines. I figured it out eventually! It looks okay.
Side fine
Who let these fins be so adorable?
