Principal's Desk
Welcome back Tigers,
I hope everyone had a great Spring Break, whether you traveled or stayed close to home, and were able to rejuvenate as we embark on the 4th quarter. This next 10 weeks will be full of testing and assessments, starting with our Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) for our 3rd through 5th graders, followed by our Spring NWEA MAP Reading and Math for all grades, DIBELS testing for our K-3 students, then class end of the year assessments. Now is the time for students to demonstrate what they have been learning all year and their growth. Thank you to all of our 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade families who attended our MCAP Kick off Night this week as each grade level team shared dates for testing, what you can do at home to support your student, and get them ready to do their best.
We will also be planning school-wide learning opportunities like Career Day on May 18th and school-wide celebrations like Field Day in June and our traditional Kindergarten and 5th-grade promotion activities to end the year. We will be sharing information for parents to engage, volunteer, and support these activities in the coming weeks. Please make to check our channels for information.
This is also the active recruiting season as we look to add certified, qualified, and highly motivated educators to add to our CMIT South Elementary family. If you know any educators who are interested in joining our team, please have them contact me via email at rmiller@cmitsouthes.org.Mr. Ronald A. Miller, Jr.
