A Message From The Principal
Dear Christ the King School Families,
Happy Friday!! Brrrrr...what a cold week we have encountered. Although I feel I am finally acclimating to Vermont’s weather conditions (it’s been a balmy 77 in Miami this past week), I am still in awe of the resilience of everyone choosing to live in this state. This morning, I enjoyed watching (and high-fiving!) students braving the cold as they slid down the biggest slide at incredible (but safe!) speeds, landing on their feet! I believe these moments are so incredibly important, and I am reminded of our purpose in this world through the words of C.S. Lewis: “Don’t shine so that others can see you. Shine so that through you, others can see HIM.” To be a part of CKS is a true blessing.
Because Father was away at a Diosecan retreat, Holy Mass was offered today, with the 3rd grade hosting. Next Wednesday, the 2nd graders will be hosting the Holy Mass.
Tonight, the Semi-Formal Dance will be occurring, and I am quite certain students will enjoy themselves immensely. Thank you to all those who are helping with this event!
Many events are scheduled for next week, and the information for Catholic Schools Week will be sent shortly. I am so excited to be a part of this full week!!
It is our hope everyone is able to rest and remain warm this weekend.
Finally, of course, included in this newsletter, you will find many announcements as well as photos of this past week - enjoy!!
In Christ,
Kelley Alderman
CKS Principal

SUPER BOWL SQUARES AVAILABLE NOW
We’re happy to announce the return of a fan-favorite fundraiser that brought excitement and success last year – CKS Squares for the Big Football Game with a Copyrighted Name!
Why should you join? Not only is it a thrilling way to enjoy the big game, but profits from the squares will go towards Teacher Appreciation Week and help fund some new playground equipment.
Last year’s fundraiser was a hit, thanks to your incredible support. With the funds raised, we were able to welcome a brand new (and much more pleasant smelling) Carl the Cardinal to campus.
Here’s what you need to know about the CKS Squares:
- Each square is priced at $25, they sold out quickly last year, so don’t wait too long to secure yours!
- The payouts are as follows:
o $250 for the First Quarter
o $350 for Half Time
o $250 for the Third Quarter
o $350 for the Final Score
- New for this year: Each square purchased automatically assigns you four sets of numbers – one for each quarter. No worries about being stuck with a bad set of numbers for the entire game!
There’s more! This year, in addition to the fundraiser, we’ve got an exciting opportunity for our students. We will be hosting a CKS student squares, where each student will be assigned a free square for a chance to win fantastic CKS prizes. Keep an eye out for the grid to come your way soon!
To purchase a square or more, go to: CKS Squares
Let’s make this year's CKS Squares fundraiser even more successful than before!
Thank you for being part of our amazing CKS community!

Thank you to all the donations. We will be collecting cans and bottles each month so keep saving them. Stay tune for our next date.
THANK YOU VERMONT TEDDY BEAR AND LAWSON FAMILY
The good people at Vermont Teddy Bear donated some adorable bears to support our fall Super Raffle. The Lawson family were one of the lucky winners and they asked that this sweet bear be donated to the Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations (CUSI). Today Det. Peatman stopped by CKS to pick up the gift. CUSI responds to very challenging and tragic crimes involving children and we pray this bear can help bring comfort to a child during a sad and scary time. Thank you Lawsons for your kindness, VTB for your generous donation, and CUSI for your work protecting children and families.
