The Buzz at Leeds
December 5, 2022
Message from Principal Wenz
Tomorrow night, 12/6, the district will host a Virtual Kindergarten Information Night for families who have children who will enter kindergarten in September of 2023. (Children who turn 5 on or before 8/31/23.) See flyer below.
On Thursday night, 12/8, our School Committee will be meeting and listed on the agenda is a "Discussion and possible VOTE: to create a district-run childcare program or invite the YMCA to expand their childcare program to Leeds." Please see the agenda below.
A huge shout out to Melissa Woglom and Anne-Marie Fant for coordinating and facilitating our first Leeds PTO Bingo Night. Additionally, thank you to some of our staff members who participated in the event. It is so nice to have events back in our building. Our Leeds PTO board members are looking for more volunteers. If you have time to give or are interested in finding out what they need assistance with, please contact our PTO President, Meghan Steed (meghan@leedspto.org).
Our LEAP (Leeds Enrichment After School Program) runs through 12/9. Our next session will begin in January. The forms will be sent shortly.
Just a reminder that we have an Early Release day on 12/7 with an 11:30 dismissal. Our holiday break begins on 12/23. We will not have school on Friday, 12/23. School will be closed 12/23/22 through 1/2/23. We will not have school on Monday, 1/2/23. School will resume on Tuesday, 1/3/23.
It is important to help our environment. Now that the weather is getting colder, please do not idle as you wait to pick up students.
With kindness,
Chris Wenz, Principal

Leeds Equity & Inclusion Committee
Greetings from the Leeds Equity and Inclusion Committee! We are a group of Leeds parents, caregivers, teachers, and staff who work toward creating a school community that honors self-exploration, meaningful relationships across difference, and every person’s dignity and belonging. The E&I Committee is a subcommittee of the Leeds School Council.
Our next monthly meeting will take place virtually on Thursday, December 15, from 7:00-8:30 PM. Please email leedsequityandinclusioncomm@gmail.com for the Google Meet link.
New folx are warmly welcomed and encouraged to join meetings to get a better sense of what we’re about! E&I participation is completely flexible -- you can choose to commit as much or as little as you’d like. This might mean staying in the loop via our email listserv, attending the occasional meeting or every meeting, initiating or joining existing activities/projects, or some combination.
Find out more about the E&I committee and our past projects on our website! To join the E&I email listserv, receive updates about future meetings, or ask questions/share your ideas, please email: leedsequityandinclusioncomm@gmail.com.
