Principal's Message
Gratitude
This coming week, while students are out of school, staff members will be attending a two-day session of professional learning at Woodburn High School. On Monday and Tuesday, administrators, teachers, and classified staff will gather together at the high school to attend a variety of workshops designed to help us all to better serve our students and our community! Wednesday through Friday school will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
With Thanksgiving coming up, we've asked staff and students to share their thoughts about gratitude. Here are a few of the things our staff and students have told us that they are thankful for!
Staff:
- I am grateful for my class. :)
- I am grateful for all the funny comments kids say everyday. So many sweet, funny kids :)
- I am grateful for my students, because they are safe, respectful, and responsible.
- I am grateful for colleagues who look out for & support each other!
Students:
- I am grateful for my cousin Bobby's dog.
- I am grateful for my teacher, my friends, my family, my life, my everything!
- I am grateful for my calming corner pass.
- I am grateful for my cousins that are coming for Thanksgiving to my house.
Students expressed gratitude for MANY things. By far, the number one thing that students are most thankful for is their families. Time and again, when asked what they are grateful for, students tell us that they are thankful for their parents and their families. We know that the family is the strongest influence on the growth and development of a child. We are thankful for you, too! We hope that you ALL enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving week together, surrounded with family and loved ones.
