The Heart of H-TECH Collaboration
Friday, October 26, 2018, marked the first H-TECH Advisory Board Meeting for the 2018-2019 School Year. Board members had the opportunity to discuss upcoming activities, revisit roles and responsibilities of members, and hear student testimonials about their summer and fall experiences. The Advisory Board members also had the opportunity to share their personal goals for this school year. The best part of this meeting is that it was facilitate by a team of H-TECH students. What a wonderful way to highlight and show the result of the contributions of our members! Members cannot wait to see what this year of collaboration brings!

The Skills That Make a Difference
"A picture is worth a thousand words." The smiles on Roosevelt H-TECH's Methods of Academic and Personal Success (M.A.P.S.) students speak volumes. These smiles are attributed to the contribution of our newest industry partner, Celanese.
Representatives from Celanese did an all day presentation with our students on the non-verbal communication. Celanese employees used a series of videos and role play activities to demonstrate the power of the unspoken that can be applied universally. Students practiced their newfound skills in impromptu introductions reviewed by their peers and the staff form Celanese.
This is the first of monthly presentations from Celanese that are aimed at ensuring students are prepared for success in the business arena. H-TECH students are excited and looking forward to the upcoming events.
