Please remember to send your children to school with a clean face covering and to stay home if you are sick. Please call the Main Office if your child will be absent and send a written note upon return.
REMOTE WEDNESDAYS
In an effort to add some excitement to Remote Wednesdays, each "Wear-It Wednesday" will have a unique theme:
2/3- Wear your favorite NFL team apparel or colors in celebration of the Super Bowl!
2/10- Wear red, pink, and/or purple in celebration of Valentine's Day!
2/17- No School! Have fun!
2/24- Dress like your 100 years old in celebration of the 100th day of school!
We look forward to "seeing" your children on Wednesdays!
IMPORTANT DATES/UPDATES
2/9 (BLUE) & 2/12 (GOLD & REMOTE)- Valentine's Day Celebrations
2/15-2/19- No School- Mid Winter Recess
2/23 (BLUE) & 2/26 (GOLD)- 100th Day of School Celebrations
Throughout the month, GS students will be learning about Black History and showcasing their learning through a school-wide "museum" experience. Since we can't go on a field trip, the field trip will come to us!
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS
George Southard students made Valentines for Senior Citizens in local nursing homes!
Student Council is asking each grade to donate the following items by 2/26 to show appreciation for our local Essential Workers:
K students: Travel size hand sanitizer & thank you cards
1st Grade: Gum or Mints & thank you cards
2nd Grade: Pack of “Click” Pens & thank you cards
3rd Grade: Travel size wet wipes & thank you cards
4th Grade: Lip balm/Chapstick & thank you cards

OUTDOOR RECESS
A MESSAGE FROM THE PTA
2nd grade students sequence the steps of building a snowman.
1st graders write three facts they learned about groundhogs in celebration of Groundhog Day.
K students write about how they would keep their snowman from melting.
1st graders share their family Valentine projects.
"Donut" you know I love you?
2nd graders read about Harriet Tubman and write important facts about her life as part of the GS Black History Month "Museum" experience.
February is American Heart Health Month!
Students get their heart rate up in PE class.
