Irvington Weekly Newsletter
December 22, 2023
A big thank you to all the donations this week: money for the Giving Tree, treats for staff...we really appreciate all the support! It's part of what makes Irvington such a special community. Have a RESTFUL break, and we will see you in the new year!
Coming in January...
Winter recycling event, January 3: The second recycling event will be held Wednesday, January 3, at drop off and pick up. During winter break, save your styrofoam, light bulbs, batteries, electronics, and holiday string lights for recycling. More information on what is accepted here.
Clothing drive, January 8-12: A clothing drive benefiting the PPS/PTA Clothing Center, which furnishes age-appropriate clothing to any PPS student in need, is coming January 8-12! Start collecting your gently used, clean clothing for students in sizes newborn through 4X to fit babies up to high school students to school to donate. For more details on what is and is not accepted, check your student’s backpack for a flier today, or click here.
PTA general meeting, January 22: The next PTA meeting has been rescheduled to Monday, January 22, 5:30pm. We hope to see you there!
ReadAThon, January 22-February 2: Gear up your young readers for the second annual Irvington ReadAThon! Coming at the end of the month is the wildly popular and successful event/fundraiser! All students will be encouraged to participate by reading and logging their minutes to meet school-wide goals and earn school-wide prizes. Families who wish to participate in fundraising for literacy support at Irvington will be able to do so through Pledgestar (same process as the Fun Run). More information coming after winter break!
