GP Parent Org Monthly Meeting
Want to hear what we’ve been up to? Join us on Monday, January 8 at 7 p.m. in the GP library. We are looking for Coat Check volunteers and looking for creative ideas for fundraising. Join us for our next meeting, we need you! Also hear from Principal Conrad about all things Grizzly and what coming up. We have two ways you can join us either in-person or via teams. Looking forward to seeing you!
Snohomish School District athletes will be participating in upcoming Cleats vs. Cancer All-Star Football Games.
Snohomish School District athletes will be participating in upcoming Cleats vs. Cancer All-Star Football Games.
Games will be held at noon and 4 p.m. on Monday, January 15, at Pop Keeney Stadium in Bothell. District athletes selected to participate include Chris Bonshe, Kyle Martin, and Jake Reid will be playing in the noon game, and Jackson Murphy, Bradley Perman, and Ben Williams will be playing at 4 p.m.
Cleats vs Cancer was founded in 2018 by Derek Sparks, former Washington State running back and 1994 Alamo Bowl veteran. It features senior high school football players from the state of Washington, and event proceeds benefit children and families battling cancer. Through funds raised through ticket sales, grants are provided to area families impacted by cancer. Learn more and purchase tickets at https://cleatsvscancer.com/.

Parent led Grad Night Party
The parent led Grad Night Party will kick off tickets sales this Wednesday, December 13 during both lunches in the commons. Tickets will be on sale every Wednesday through February for $175. Get an early bird ticket and receive 5 raffle tickets towards prizes during the Grad Night Party and an exclusive Grad Night Party t-shirt. Prices will increase February 1.

Scholarships and opportunities
Seniors! The Local Scholarship Program is opening in February, 2024
Class of 2024 seniors, prepare now to apply to the Local Scholarship Program (LSP) by creating a profile on the washboard.org. The LSP is a group of over 60 scholarships for GPHS seniors managed by the Snohomish Education Foundation. There are scholarships for students pursuing four-year, two-year, trade, tech, and apprenticeship pathways. Learn more about the program here. Scholarships do change year to year, but most remain the same. Updated 2024 scholarship information will be shared once it is available.

Community fliers and reminders
Glacier Peak Winter Formal - January 27
Glacier Peak's Winter Formal will be on January 27 and this year's theme is Masquerade! Students may wear a fun masquerade mask, but they must be removable at the door for admittance. All students are encouraged to attend this fun event and can come solo, with a friend, group or date. Guests passes are available at the front office now as it takes time to get the passes filled out. Dance passes will not be accepted after the due date and tickets will NOT be sold at the door.
- Location: Glacier Peak Commons
- Time 8-11p.m.
- Light refreshments will be provided – no outside food or drink allowed
- Attire: Formal/semi formal
- Cost:$25 at the bookkeeper – tickets will go on sale January 16.
- Guest passes available in the main office now
PM at the Peak
PM at the Peak is an opportunity for students to get specific support in their classes. It is not simply a ‘study hall’. While students are welcome to use the time to study and work independently, it is designed to provide students an opportunity to ask for, and receive help from teachers on their homework, essays, or use the computers.
**End of the Semester is January 26, students can take advantage of this resource to finish semester one strong.**

To maintain accurate attendance records we would like to provide these helpful reminders and tips for reporting an absence, a late arrival or request for an early dismissal. Choose from one of the four easy ways to report absences.

- Enter a request in Family Access/Skyward
- Email gph-attendance@sno.wednet.edu
- A written note signed by a parent/guardian or medical/dental provider.
- Please provide your student's first and last name, the date of the absence and a reason for the absence. Please spell the name if needed.
- An absence will be considered excused when we receive notification from a parent or legal guardian in the attendance office within 48 hours of the absence.
