As we begin planning for a great 2022-2023 school year, it is with a heavy heart that I share with you that we are having some staff members move on to new opportunities. We wish them the best!

The District is offering free hot lunch for all children 18 years and younger throughout the summer at Daffodil Valley Elementary. Unlike the past couple of years of curbside grab-and-go bagged meals, we will now serve hot lunches to be enjoyed inside the school building.

Here are the details:

• June 27-Aug. 19, Monday-Friday
• 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
• Daffodil Valley Elementary (1509 Valley Ave., in Sumner)
• No applications required
• No meal service Monday, July 4 due to Independence Day holiday

Did you know that your health services team is already planning for next year?

• If your child receives medication at school, medication-at-school orders must be signed by your medical provider dated June 1, 2022 or later for the upcoming school year.
• Documentation and medications for life threatening health conditions must be provided by September 6, 2022, in order for the student to attend school.
• If your child has a current IHP or a medication at school order, you will be receiving additional communication from your school health room.

We encourage you to make necessary medical appointments now so that you are prepared to send your child to school on the first day of the new school year.

It's hard to believe we are almost done with this school year! We just want to call attention to some fun events coming up. Details are below in the infographics.

• Spirit Week - June 13-20
• Celebration Night June 14
• Food Drive (competition between the Administrators) June 14 --bring items to celebration night, the food bank will be taking it directly to their warehouse!

Also, as a reminder as it warms up (hopefully!) that school appropriate clothing should be worn to school. Shirts should cover midriff and shorts should be fingertip length. Also, shoes should have straps on the back to secure to the foot and no cleats!

Also, with weather warming up in the afternoons and cooler mornings, students tend to shed their hoodies....leading us to an overflowing lost and found! If you have missing items, please come check out what we have. Items will be out on Celebration Night and will be donated to charity when school closes for the summer.

Do you know a child who will be five years old on or before August 31? Maybe it's your neighbor, friend or even your own child. Now’s the right time to enroll next year’s kindergarten students. The sooner you enroll, the better we can keep you informed and get prepared for your child to join us. • There has a close contact with anyone confirmed to have, or suspected to have COVID-19

• Fever of 100.4 or higher

• Cough- frequent and persistent

• Loss of taste or smell

• Shortness of breath

• Fatigue

• Headache

• Muscle or body aches

• Sore throat

• Congestion or runny nose

• Nausea, diarrhea or vomiting
