Welcome back!

We had a great first full week of school last week! When students, families, and staff walk through the doors of the Callahan School, they should feel proud, included, and loved. Everyone at the Callahan School matters!

Open House/Back to School Night

The Open House/Back to School Night will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Come meet your child's teacher(s) and connect with the PTA.

Aspen Returning Student Registration - PLEASE COMPLETE

The district requires that each family completes the "Aspen Returning Student Registration" via Aspen Family portal to update emergency contact information. Please review this video for instructions. If you have any questions or concerns, please email npsaspensupport@norwood.k12.ma.us or call the Main Office. Please note that Aspen is not available on mobile devices.

Attendance and Dismissal Changes

Please send a note or call the Main Office if your child will be absent or if his/her dismissal plan has changed (ex. picking up child earlier for an appointment, getting picked up instead of riding the bus, etc.). That way we can ensure that your child is going to the right place at dismissal time.

Breakfast and Lunch

Please make sure that your child is either having breakfast before coming to school or getting breakfast once they arrive at school. Breakfast is served every morning in the cafeteria from 7:35am-7:50am. Breakfast is free for all students.

Lunch is served in two waves: 10:40am-11:10am (Grades 3-5) and 11:10am-11:40am (Grades 1-2). Students need to enter their lunch number on a keypad to "check out". You can view the menu here. Lunch is free for all students.

Callahan School Council

If you are interested in being a part of the Callahan School Council, please contact Scarlett Grandt, principal, at sgrandt@norwoodk12.ma.us to enter your name on the election ballot.

The Callahan School councils collaborates with the principal in:

Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards
Identifying the educational needs of students attending the school
Reviewing the annual school building budget
Formulating a school improvement plan

The School Council will meet several times during the school year, typically from 6:00pm to 7:00pm before a PTA meeting.

Electronic flyers - REMINDER

This school year, the Norwood Public School district is working on sending out information to families electronically. This means flyers and reminders will be distributed via Parent Square or posted on our school website (currently under construction).
