Middle School East
Boyertown Area School District - Home of the Bears
Week In Review and a Look Ahead: Friday, October 27, 2023
Principal's Message
On Wednesday, our 7th and 8th graders were able to meet with winter coaches and receive information on their sport of interest. Sign-ups are due by November 8 and practices begin November 28.
Please visit boyertownathletics.com or login to your student central/big teams account (if you registered for a fall sport) to sign up.
The Boyertown East and West Marching band performed in both the Boyertown Halloween Parade on Saturday and the Bally Parade on Monday. Performers had fun decorating instruments and entertaining the crowds playing "Fireball," "Handclap," and "Cheyanne." The Middle School marching unit earned 2nd in Marching band category for the Boyertown Parade. Mr. Agatone and Mr. Jordan want to wish a congratulations on a great season.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, our 6th graders split up to go on a field trip to Hawk Mountain. The students participated in an engaging and entertaining lecture on the history of the sanctuary and learned about various raptors and the ecosystem. The students then hiked the trails and saw some beautiful sites. We couldn't have picked a better time of year and enjoyed more perfect weather for the experience! Enjoy some pictures of the day below:
We have observed an increase in the morning of cars by-passing the car-loop in the front of the building and driving around the entire building. In doing this, cars are interfering with bus drop-off in the back of the building causing a safety hazard. Please refrain from doing this as those who are found to do this will be cited. Thank you for your help in our efforts for student safety.
The Lost and Found Has Filled Up!
Our students are STRONGLY encouraged to visit the "Lost and Found" in the cafeteria. Daily, we are putting water bottles, gym clothes, folders, and other items that are left behind in the halls, cafeteria, and the rest of the building. At the end of each trimester, we donate the salvageable items to a local charity. More expensive items, such as glasses, calculators, air pods, and other electronics are kept in the Main Office. Items that are found that are labeled with a student's name are given directly to that student when found.
Purchase Tickets for the November Musical
Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters are springing to life on Boyertown Middle School East’s stage in Seussical JR., a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. You may pick from show dates on November 16 and 17 (7PM) or November 18 (2PM).
Students may purchase tickets (cash or checks payable to Boyertown Music League) November 1st – November 17th in the lobby between 7:15 – 7:35 each school morning. Students and families planning to attend are encouraged to pre-purchase tickets in order to avoid lines at the door. Tickets will be emailed directly to students’ Gmail accounts OR you can request that your tickets be mailed to a parent/guardian email instead. Tickets can also be purchased online through boyertownmusic.com. Please email Mrs. Binkley at mbinkley@boyertownasd.org with any questions.
