I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will begin SCReady testing this week. We are encouraging all students to get a good night's rest, charge their chromebooks, eat a healthy breakfast and simply do their bests on each test. Students have worked hard to learn all year, this is their chance to show off how much they have learned.

Dear Families:

Our last TREX collection date will be THURSDAY, May 23rd...so please SEND IT IN!!! We have until August to get to the 1,000 pound goal! If you are able to collect it and hold it over the summer that would be great...we will be glad to collect it in August. Thanks to all of you for participating in this program. This small step we take individually adds up when we do this as a community in keeping all of this plastic out of our local landfills.

4K Screening

We are accepting applications to have your child screened for Dutch Fork Elementary School’s 4K Program. Students must be four years old by September 1, 2024 and be potty trained. The program is an “academically and standards driven program” for students whose acceptance further prepares them for five-year old Kindergarten.

Please have these items available:

· Completed application

· Full birth certificate (not a hospital certificate)

· One proof of residence item

· A financial document for each income earner in the household (new this year). Choose from: Income Tax Return, W-2, Recent Pay Stub, Proof of SNAP, Medicaid, Other

2024 -2025 Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration has begun. Students must be five years old by September 1, 2024. Please start at the FinalForms portal. You may upload your child's legal full birth certificate (not a hospital certificate), immunization record and Proof of Residence (POR) to the site. POR documents must be in the property owner or parent/guardian or leaseholder’s name and must be current. Three items total are required:

· A property tax or mortgage statement or lease AND

· Two current, different utility bills or a bill and a vehicle registration or a bill and a voter registration card are required.

If you are sharing a home with a family member, an affidavit must be completed (ask for one in the main office or ask for one by email from the registrar at saclemen@lexrich5.org).

Current 4K Students/ Rising Kindergarten Students 2024 - 2025

Do you know, as the parent/guardian of a current 4K student at DFES, you do not have to register them for 5K Kindergarten? They will remain enrolled at DFES. You will need to complete a FinalForms update and upload new Proof of Residence, date to come.

Parent Portal

Q3 Interim Report Cards will be sent home on Tuesday, February the 20th. Third – Fifth grade families may find Parent Portal useful to see attendance and grade information. Rising 6th graders will use it for electives course selection. Parent Portal is valid until your child graduates or leaves District Five. It's easy to pick up from the front office if you are the parent or legal guardian! Just show your picture ID.
