Fugett Flash
Monday, September 4th - Friday, September 8th, 2023
Fugett Family,
I hope that everyone was able to have a fun, safe, and relaxing weekend with family and friends.
Thank you all for an incredible first week! There is a vibrant and positive energy in the building and we are excited for this new collective beginning. We have several opportunities for us to gather this week and next. We hope your schedule allows you to take advantage of the Open House events and meet the exceptional staff working with your children every day. While Open House is not a time for individual student conversations, I am positive you will feel the commitment and dedication our staff have for your young scholars when you enter our classroom doors.
I am looking forward to seeing you all soon!
Cougar Proud,
Dr. Werner

Fugett Middle School Carline Information
Safety is paramount at Fugett Middle School (FMS). For the safety of students and staff, all drivers must observe posted speed limits and directional paths listed below. While there are two main entrances, there is one dedicated lane for student drop-off in the mornings and pick up at dismissal time.
Please allow yourself extra time in the morning if you plan to drop off your children. We have established a traffic flow to best move cars in and out efficiently, while keeping students and staff safe. Please read and adhere to the information below and reach out if you have questions.
As we share our campus with East High School (EHS), be aware of the directional traffic in both areas. When you enter the campus from Ellis Lane or Airport Road/Paoli Pike, please know that the ramp area on Ellis Lane in front of FMS/EHS auditoriums is for BUSES ONLY, and one-way toward EHS from 7:00-7:30 a.m. each morning.
Entering FMS (Green Route on Map)
From Ellis Lane:
1. Turn right toward FMS upon entering the campus.
2. Remain to the right to use the outside lane toward the front of the school.
3. Progress in that lane and merge with Airport Road/Paoli Pike entry traffic to enter the Loop.
From Airport Road/Paoli Pike:
1. Turn left on to the road toward FMS.
2. Take your turn to merger into the traffic entering the loop.
3. Progress in that lane and merge with Ellis Lane entry traffic to enter the Loop.
In the Loop: All Drop-Off and Pick-Up Traffic
Crosswalks - Staff and high-need students will be using our two crosswalks. For the safety of all, please monitor the crosswalks and immediately yield to anyone who needs to cross.
Driving in the Loop: please read carefully as this area is high-traffic and most at-risk.
1. Pull up all the way to the Student Drop-Off sign (Red X) in front the FMS main entrance.
2. Students should exit from car independently and with a plan and purpose, displaying respect and consideration for those in line behind them.
3. Proceed carefully out of the Loop, monitoring crosswalk pedestrians.
Pick-Up – As stated above, only high-need students will use the crosswalk accommodation. The vast majority of students will walk to their designated car from the FMS main sidewalk for their safety.
Exiting the Loop (Yellow Route on Map)
You will exit the Loop and proceed to the first stop sign with two options.
1. Make a left at the first stop sign, toward East fields and the second stop sign; then turn right to exit the campus onto Airport Road/Paoli Pike.
OR
2. Turn right at the first stop sign into the inside lane of the parking lot to exit the campus toward Ellis Lane. Turn left at stop sign onto the exit road to turn onto Ellis Lane.
Please follow the steps above to ensure a safe, effective, and efficient carline. Thank you for your help in keeping Fugett safe for our students, staff, parents and visitors.
Dr. Steven Werner, Interim Principal

Drop Off/Pick Up for Families with Students at EHS and FMS
To serve you better, families may drop off and/or pick up East and Fugett students at either building, as long at you are using the typical drop off/pick up location.
