February 4 - 10, 2024
The mission of Schaumburg Christian School is to prepare each student for a successful life through excellent academics, purpose-driven extracurriculars, and life-changing biblical instruction in a loving, Christian environment.
Campus Verse of the Week
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, ~ Ps. 103:1-4
Black History Month
Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity!
It is like the precious oil on the head,
running down on the beard,
on the beard of Aaron,
running down on the collar of his robes!
It is like the dew of Hermon,
which falls on the mountains of Zion!
For there the Lord has commanded the blessing,
life forevermore. ~ Ps. 133
Yesterday marked the beginning of Black History Month throughout February. This year at Schaumburg Christian School, we are choosing to remember that God has given every blessing available also to black people to freely be affirmed by Him through Christ, encouraged about being created in His image, and full recipients of His love in every way; thereby eliminating partiality and creating potential for greater unity amongst all of God’s family in Christ. It is because of God using the contributions of many, that we have the freedom to affirm these realities and many others. Black History Month, and every day for that matter, is a reminder that God has called us to love one another as God has loved us. Some choose to misunderstand, neglect, or politicize Black History Month; we choose to use the month to emphasize unity in Christ, because as Christians we know that true unity comes through Christ.
We want to thank Dr. Ty Gooch for helping write the above statement and walking along side SCS as a senior Bible teacher and counselor.
