Sponsors are needed for Oceanfest at Long Branch
The Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce is very excited to have Oceanfest at Long Branch back this year.
We are asking businesses to help by becoming sponsors for this event. Any amount, big or small would be appreciated.
Please read the following letter explaining Oceanfest at Long Branch.
On Monday, July 4, 2022, the Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Long Branch will be celebrating the 30th fabulous year of “Oceanfest at Long Branch”, now the State’s premier regional Fourth of July celebration. We are so excited to be back celebrating the 4th of July once again.
The event takes place on the Oceanfront Promenade and spans more than one half mile of Boardwalk adjacent to Pier Village. Oceanfest has always been a wonderful family-oriented event. Returning this year will be our popular professional sand sculpting, all day musical entertainment, original arts and crafts, food festival, children’s entertainment and of course, a world class firework display which promises to be bigger than ever.
The highlight is the fabulous fireworks display, which as a corporate sponsor can be viewed at our “Evening Under the Stars” reception, which begins at 7:00 p.m.
Sponsorship Participation levels can be tailored to meet your needs.
Please feel free to call 732-222-0400 or email at info@longbranchchamber.org to discuss your participation. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

The New Plastic Bag Ban Law
The NJ Department of Environmental Protection just released additional FAQs on the new Plastic Bag Ban Law. This latest round of FAQs addresses various issues such as curbside pickup/home delivery services, prepared food, straws and an explanation for some exemptions. This builds on the latest round of questions businesses have sought answers from NJDEP on the implementation process and eCommerce delivery.
The NJDEP Get Past Plastic website that hosts this information is available here. Once on the website scroll down to the “Frequently Asked Questions” section. You must click the various question sections listed 1-through-5 to find the new answers starting at Section (1.20). Upon clicking a question section, you will see the latest questions bolded with “New” listed to the right of the question.
We are two weeks away from implementation so please continue to check out the resources on the websites below:

Garden State Park Way Road Construction at Exit 105
The project consists of four work areas (Work Areas A, B, C, and D). To complete each work area, a full closure of that ramp will be required and traffic will be detoured to either Interchanges 102 or 109.
Work Area A
is the ramp structure from the toll plaza to the southbound inner (Express) roadway (i.e., Ramp E1) and includes Structures 106.3I, 106.4NO and 106.4A. The detour for Work Area A will either take you south on Route 18 to Exit 102 or north on the GSP to make a U-turn at Exit 109.
Work Area B
is the ramp structure from the southbound outer (Local) roadway (i.e., Ramp E2) and includes Structures 106.4I and 106.4NO. The detour for Work Area B will take you off the GSP SB at Exit 105 onto Wayside Road. Local roads will be used to take you back to Route 36.
Work Area C
is the ramp structure from the southbound inner (Express) roadway (i.e., Ramp E3) and includes Structures 106.4I and 106.4NO. The detour for Work Area C will take you down to Exit 102 and north to Route 36 via local roads.
Work Area D
is the ramp structure from from the toll plaza to the northbound inner (Express) lanes (i.e., Ramp E4) and includes Structure 106.5NO. The detour for Work Area D will utilize the GSP northbound outer (Local) roadway.
The project will be completed in two stages. Stage 1 will start in the spring of 2022 and will include the full closure of ramps associated with Work Areas C and D. This stage is expected to take approximately nine months, with completion scheduled for fall of 2022.
Upon completion of Stage 1, Stage 2 will begin with the full closure of Work Areas A and B. Work Area A will take approximately seven months and has a milestone completion date of May 15, 2023. Work Area B will take approximately two additional months, continuing through the summer of 2023.
