Exterior doors are locked and should not be opened during the school day.
Students and visitors should only enter and exit through the controlled access main entrance - Door #1.
Prior to entry, visitors are asked to show a photo ID which is checked by a visitor management system.
Video camera systems are positioned at multiple entry points and are monitored during the school day.
Students and staff are asked to be proactive in reporting to administration all suspicious activities or any person who doesn't have a badge or seems out of place.

Did you know?
Steady enrollment growth is expected over the next 10 years, eventually exceeding 12,000 students. Despite an interruption in 10 years of enrollment growth due to the pandemic, more than eight out of 10 resident students still choose to enroll in Mounds View Public Schools. “Even though some families left for other choices, Mounds View is still very strong in capturing resident students,” said Hazel Reinhardt, a demographic consultant who recently completed an enrollment study for the District.
5 facts to know about . . .
Transportation and Mounds View Public Schools
1. We contract transportation services with six different bus companies.
2. Bus drivers are not Mounds View Public Schools employees.
3. Like all bus companies, our transportation providers are experiencing a shortage of
drivers. We are working collaboratively with them to address the need for additional
drivers.
4. Late buses may be an occasional consequence of the driver shortage. We're sorry for
this, and we ask for patience as we work with the bus companies to find drivers.
5. At times, when routes need to be covered by different substitute drivers, times and route
consistency may vary.
To learn more about bus driving opportunities, please call 651-621-8900 or visit www.american-
trans.com.
Let’s Talk About It: Caregivers, the first line of defense
As a caregiver, never underestimate your power to influence a child’s future. Read this month’s blog post about how adult behaviors can sometimes influence children’s behavior, and how this relates to Alcohol Awareness Month.
Payments for COVID-related absences
If your child is approved for Educational Benefits (free or reduced-price school meals), they may be eligible for P-EBT benefits of $8.10 for each day they were absent due to a COVID-19 impact. Click HERE for more information.
Non-Academic Personal Property:
Students should not bring personal items such as toys, card collections, footballs, soccer balls or similar sports equipment to school. These items may be misplaced or stolen and can be a disruption to learning. If a teacher wishes to have students bring such items to school for a special event, parents will be notified. We appreciate your support.

Riding the Bus and Food/Drink
While riding the bus, students are expected to keep all food and drink in their backpacks. This expectation prevents choking incidents, exposure to life-threatening allergens, and promotes bus sanitation.
Building Security Procedures
A visitor screening system helps track visitors and volunteers at each school, providing a safe and monitored environment for students and staff. When parents come to pickup their child(ren), or visitors check in, they will be asked to present a valid state issued ID for entering into the system.
Phone Numbers/Staff Directory
Staff phone numbers and email addresses are available on the Bel Air Website at: Bel Air Staff. To reach a teacher via email: firstname.lastname@mvpschools.
