OVA Reminders
- Edgenuity recommends working for at least 50 minutes in each of your courses, every day, Monday through Friday, in order to stay on pace.
- Seniors, your last day to work in your courses in Edgenuity is May 13!
- All other OVA students, your last day to work on your Edgenuity courses is May 27!
- You must complete two, two-way contacts every week in order to be marked "Virtual Present" in Infinite Campus.
- When looking at your grade report that is emailed to you, you need to look at the "Actual Grade" in order to view a grade that captures any late assignments.
- If you are struggling- use the many supports around you! Your Edgenuity teachers, your Otsego mentor or Otsego teacher, the LiveChat tutor in Edgenuity, or Mrs. Nast!
Virtual Count Month
Just a reminder that attendance is always important, but it is especially important during the following virtual weeks:
Week 1: W Jan 31 - T Feb 6
Week 2: W Feb 7 - T Feb 13
Week 3: W Feb 14 - T Feb 20
Week 4: W Feb 21 - T Feb 27
Week 5: W Feb 28 - T Mar 6
You must respond to your mentor teachers in detail when they ask content-related questions. One word answers do not count! Be sure to check Google Classroom and your Otsego email every day. This is so, so important!

Edgenuity Help
Capturing Kids’ Hearts
February's Capturing Kids' Hearts character trait is Kindness. We use monthly themes to help teach social emotional skills to our students, as we know these are the most important tools in being successful in their personal and educational lives. Our student's wellbeing is of most importance to us at OVA!
What is Kindness?
Kindness is the ability and willingness to express care and compassion for others. Kindness is a choice to use our time, talent, and resources to better the lives of others and the world through genuine acts of love, compassion, generosity, and service.
Why focus on Kindness?
- Kindness boosts positive emotions. Acts of kindness create neural pathways that enhance feelings of well-being and the natural flow of feel-good endorphins and neurotransmitters.
- Kindness is self-replicating. When we perform an act of kindness, it is likely to encourage others to act in a similar way.
- Kindness reduces stress and anxiety. Kindness promotes positive relationships with other people. Anything that helps you to build bonds with other people helps decrease anxiety.
