From the Counselor
Red Ribbon week was so much fun and such a success! The Key’s your students colored will continue to light up the wall for at least another week. I am very proud of all that participated!
WORLD KINDNESS DAY is celebrated on Monday, November 13. As quoted by Houston Kraft, Author of Deep Kindness, “The kind of kindness the world needs is practiced, it’s habitual, it’s regimented. It’s not random acts, it’s thoughtful consistent acts over time. Nice is just a reaction. If you’re nice to me, I’ll be nice to you. If nice is reactive, kindness is proactive.” To practice kindness, your students will have the opportunity to write Kindness Grams to anyone they choose to. I hope you will join them in practicing KINDNESS, and maybe send your child’s teacher a kind email or even a hand-written note.
Play It Safe is coming up on Wednesday. This is an age-appropriate child safety program that educates children how to identify and prevent abuse and empowers children to practice safe behavior. If you opted for your child not to participate, they will have an alternate activity during the presentation.
Unfortunately, I have had to cancel my Lunch Bunch groups the past several weeks due to several different circumstances. I will resume these groups the week after Thanksgiving break. If your child returned the permission slip, they will get to participate at some point this school year! I love sitting and visiting with your children. You have some very kind, witty, intelligent kiddos!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Attendance Matters
Bertram's Attendance Tracking
Bertram's ADA for this past week was 95.42%
ADA stands for Average Daily Attendance and is defined as the total days of student attendance divided by the total days of instruction. "98 IS Great!", so 98% is our goal! We recognize that illnesses and events take place that necesitate absences, however, we do encourage every student to be in school every day he/she is able. Let's work toward 98%!
