Dear CCA Parents & Guardians – CCA values your feedback and would like to hear from you. After Winter Break, you will have an opportunity to provide both positive and constructive feedback on teachers and the school environment via our annual survey (available starting January 3rd). The survey is designed to take 20 minutes or less to complete. In exchange for your feedback you are allowed to enter two hours of volunteer time. Please look for the link in future Eagles.

With winter break coming up, what better time to go through old photos and find a baby photo and your favorite current photo of your 8th grader to send in! Each year we do a graduation video featuring your child and we need your help collecting images for that video. Please fill out this short google form about your graduating 8th grader where you will submit 1 baby/toddler photo and 1 current photo of your student for the video. Thank you in advance for helping us celebrate your children!

The Fly LIke an Eagle Committee would like to make our community aware of a new resource to provide young people with access to mental health services for free. The program, called I Matter, is funded by the Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Behavioral Health.

The program provides up to 3 free behavioral health sessions for youth in Colorado with licensed clinicians. The program is open to youth 18 years of age or younger or 21 years of age or younger if receiving special education services.

The website is imattercolorado.org. To begin, you will need to take a survey. Survey answers are completely confidential. No matter the responses, your child will be eligible for 3 free counseling sessions. Remember, seeking support for your child is not a sign of failure—it’s a sign of strength.

Nine CCA students, from grades 3 - 5, competed in the district-wide Rich Morrow Math Challenge Saturday, December 4. Our 4th grade team of Anshul, Jackson, and Sanay came in 3rd in their division; Sriprajna earned 2nd place for individual scores in hers; and Harshini, best overall individual score on the CCA team. All our students competed strongly. It was great to see their genuine team spirit and excellent collaborative effort.

Our mathletes competed in the national Noetic math competition last month and are so proud of their achievements.

COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11: The FDA and CDC have approved the Pfizer Pediatric COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11. CCSD will host several vaccine clinics for families who choose to vaccinate their children. These clinics will offer pediatric COVID-19 vaccine doses, COVID-19 vaccines for those 12 years and older and COVID-19 vaccine boosters. Some clinics will also offer flu shots. COVID-19 testing: No-cost COVID-19 testing is available at the COVIDCheck Colorado testing site at the Instructional Support Facility, located at 5416 S. Riviera Way. Chess Club is returning to CCA for their second session starting in January. You should have received a flyer home about it on Friday. If you are interested in registering please follow this link to the Pals Chess Website. They will be meeting from 3:20 pm-4:20 pm in the Gym again on Fridays (see selected dates on flyer).

Substitute Teachers:
